Hi,

Have been reading posts regarding this.

According to a previous post of ELW's..her husband got MMR,Varicella and Tetanus..

and according to RSA - MMR,diptheria and tetanus...

Now which one is more appropriate - Varicella or diptheria??

Thanks,
ELW
Why not get both and be safe? smile.gif

The civil surgeon in USA will be able to tell you what the current requirements are. I guess they are sometimes changing. RSA is still going through the AOS process so we can only wait and see to make sure no other vaccinations are required. As for us, we got approved fine last year with the Tetanus, MMR and Varicella. good.gif

Jeeves, what ELW says is correct. It changes. What I went through with was MMR and TD (Tetanus and Diptheria). I didn't have Varicella (Chickenpox) because I got it about 7 years back. So doctor said it was not necessary. So if you got chickenpox within last 10 years, it is not required otherwise you should get Varicella vaccination. I hope that clears your doubt.

Also about your IM on IPE, you needn't make an appointment. You need to get your own Vaccination supplies. IPE will administer what you bring and certify it. Sometimes you need to wait for half-an hour. It was ok for me.

Jeeves,

Passport is a must for IPE for administering the vaccination. I don't think Passport PCC will take more than a week. Given the situation, I guess you need to talk to the superior officer explaining the situation. Take all the paperwork with you to show them. Probably that may convince them!
