Hello,

I'm from Michigan. Just got my permanent residency card (10 year) last May 1, 2008 the effectivity is from June 3, 2008 till April 2018. We always have an argument and marital problems with my husband so I need to get out of this house and relationship for me to work in California so I can refresh my mind and have a better future.

My husband had already 5 grown kids who have a criminal case; I'm from Detroit that's why I never go out of the house because I fear my life. I stopped working and isolate myself inside the house because of my husband's problem with his first family.

I talked with my husband and he agreed on me working in other State California so I can start my life. I told him we have already file post nuptial because that's what he wants his house and inheritance are for his grown kids.

I have nothing even savings account, I withdrew myself from anything because I my husband always telling me what is working for are for his children and not for me. Of course; I'm hurt, my husband don't have any plans for me I'm not his priority so I planned to work in other State.

My question is:

1) What would I do? I have already a ticket to go to CAlifornia with a consent with my husband on June 5, 2008.
2) Can the Immigration take away my green card for abandoning (with consent) my husband?
3) What are the disadvantages of leaving the marital home with consent and working in other State? Will my husband can hunt me in the future?
4) What grounds can the immigration/law or my husband can do against me?

You have your permanent resident status... (10 year)

1) You do not need consent from him or anyone anymore... You can live your life as you want....

2) Immigration will not take away your greencard for abadonment of marriage...

3) Will your husband hunt you in the future? Ask him.....

4) From an immigration perspective? Your husband cannot do anything to take this away.... Only actions taken by you can cause your residency to be at risk...
