I'm curious to know the relationship between petitioner attending/not attending the K-1 interview and visa approval/denial. I don't think I'm going to be able to attend the interview...and I'm starting to fret! Thanks for answering my poll - you rock!

I voted on behalf of my hubby the USC. I got through the K-1 interview fine by myself, as did three other fiances that were interviewed after me on the same morning.

I didn't attend the interview. I wanted to come for the plane ride home. I sent him with an armload of evidence. He had no issues. Approved on the first try.

I didn't attend and she got the visa

. We decided that we could use the money for my trip to a much better use in preparation of our wedding.

My husband went with me. But right before he was to get comfortable on his seat, he was told by the consular officer that he had no part in the interview whatsoever and he may leave me.
No questions were asked of him. My visa was approved and I was able to ask for a visa pick-up. I got my visa after 2 days.
We had lots of evidences of genuine relationship and I think that did it for us alone.

I attended alone and no problem I got the visa. We knew that when I got the visa and had the moving expenses we would be better of spending the money for that. I could not vote either.

I did attend my husband's interview and he was approved in about 6 minutes! The CO actually talked to me more than my husband. I'm so glad I went - we were so nervous and it was great to be together for that time.
We decided not to be together for Christmas in order for us to meet up in Rio for the interview - it was worth it.

I was present and he was approved....it was nice to be apart of that process....the CO asked me "Isn't it difficult being in a long distance relationship" and I replied" Not really, we talk numerous times a day, see eachother on webcam everyday...I see what he is wearing and I see him smiling...the only thing that I am unable to do is touch him and sometimes that sucks"

Hubby was there with me, just for moral support. He insisted and I really appreciated that!
Visa was approved after about 2 minutes.
CO actually said "I like seeing petitioners here, even if it isn't necessary - it shows commitment!"

They were probably hoping I wouldn't show up to the interview. Apparently the only thing they talked about at the interview was me e-mailing them...a lot.
That was for an IR-1 though.

Moscow doesn't let the USC enter the embassy. For her K3, I sat in a coffee shop across the street.
