My husband recently received his greencard, but he hasn't gone to the SS office to request a SS without restrictions. Since we are planning on traveling next week, do you think that this will present a problem?

I do not think it will be a problem to not have the ssc update...
They never asked me for mine....

Only the Green Card is necessary to re-enter the US after travel abroad.

Your SSN has nothing to do with travel....
Have a good trip

Your SSN and card has no affect on your immigration status.
