HI all,

Just a quick question regarding entering the US on a K-1 Visa - I have my flights booked and am entering on Wed 28 May.

What line do I line up in when I reach the immigration hall? In some instances people have mentioned a special line for first time immigrants, while others have stated that they lined up in the US Citizen and Green Card Holders line. Any light anyone can shed on this would be helpful.

Also, as my fiancee (USC) is flying back with me on the same flight, does she line up with me at the same place?

Hope all is going well with your journeys.

Cheers,

Mark

Congratulations on getting to the this point in the immigration process!

For what it is worth, when I flew into Seattle on an international flight this weekend, I noticed that there was a K-1 visa holder and their U.S. citizen spouse in the line for non-residents. The immigration officers thought that was appropriate and let them go through the line together.

In any case, when you reach the immigration checkpoint, there should be an immigration officer or two available near the line area available for you to ask questions about the proper line to line up in.

Hi Mark....

You use the U.S. citizen/green card holders line in the immigration hall. wink.gif Here are a bunch of reviews for POE @ LAX that you can read through.

Please do visit us in the NZ thread after you're here and adjusted to let us know how your POE went. I'm in Boston but Russell will be flying in through LAX as well. We've done it what seems like a million times but i'd be interested to hear from you about your experience.

Congratulations and welcome to the U.S.!!!

Follow the instructions. You are entering the US on a visa, so you are not yet a green card holder or US Citizen. If you are traveling with your USC Fiance(e) then just get in the shortest line. Alone, follow instructions.
