Full Version: how will an outstanding warrant affect visa petition ?

anxiousfiance
I recently filed a K1 visa application for my foreign fiance.
Shortly thereafter he received a letter (both here and abroad)
informing him that there is a warrant out for his arrest.

We researched it together and it seems he wrote a couple of
bad checks back in the 1990s

Will our petition automatically be denied? He has no "record"
has never even been in traffic court.

These checks were written and he moved out of the U.S.
soon there after- and never knew these existed for the past 15 years!

Is this something that he will need a "waiver" for? Or does that only
apply if we are married?

HELP????!!!!!

Sorry hun posting in a different forum (especially an irrelevant forum) will not get you any different answers to the ones you have already been given else where. Get yourself a lawyer ASAP

Good Luck

Nutty
If he has an outstanding warrent, I seriously doubt they will issue any kind of visa.

You maybe be successful in filing a waiver. In addition to filing the waiver, correcting the mistake of the outstanding checks (pay back the people he stiffed) would probably show good faith (that is was, indeed, an honest mistake).

pay the checks and let it clear up
