Its a dangerous world, I often fear what would happen to Melannie should something unforeseen overtake her. She has no one in the UK, and I'm so far away, plus I wonder what rights I would have in getting to her as we arent married yet. Its mostly too terrible to contemplate, esp as she flies twice a week for work. I do get the numbers to the police stations in whatever town shes in and keep them handy, although I dont know what good it would possibly do.

No, they don't email you for touches. I just happened to check for the bazillionth time. The "Oh I'm bored let me look for the hell of it" check. And I saw the last activity date was 9/12/08!

man this is excrusiating i haven't looked since thursday nite, though i did get vito to double check yesterday nite, half way through thier day think it was around 3 or 4 pm. and i seriously wanna see if we have a touch but if its not i think i will cry, i need someone talk me out of it.

This time last week i was EXACTLY like you now..its actually kinda scary. The dissapointment every time i looked had driven me crazy and instead of excitedly looking to see if we had an approval i expected dissapointment!
I honestly, if the pattern anything to go by, think that next week is 'your week'..I would say wed/thur!! My fiance told me a date and told me to look forward to that. So if you look forward to your date being maybe this thursday thatll help the days till then pass more smoothly (if u get me?)
If it doesnt hppen thursday..worry about that then....but for your own sanity look forward to thurs!! Thursdays ur day

While you are seeing some approvals, I don't get why you're upset, as these approvals are happening a month ahead of expectations. I'd feel quite grateful to receive my approval when others around my date start getting theirs, but don't expect it at all.

I think people just need to lower their expectations as they're letting other approvals affect them too much. I look at what people like estadia has gone through and it makes a couple weeks look like a picnic.

the other day it was half way through september, and i'm upset cos people who filed same day as me and after me have been approved. when they claim that they do it in order. perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if they stuck to that order or if i was expecting my case to be difficult. but i havnt got a difficult case, and they didnt stick to what they claim. also 1st of oct is too late if i want vito to be there and i had my hopes up for that when they sped up. i'd also like to book our wedding date. theres many reasons why i'm impatient, amongst the obvious.

i feel bad estadia and quite frankly theres no excuse for it. if there was problem with her case they acted on it by now instead of keeping her hanging or just approved her.

But they don't do them in some precise order. You've been even more looking at approvals than I have, and I'm sure you know they don't exactly go in order, and adjudicators work at a different pace. I just hope you and everyone else are with one who is fast, I think we all deserve that, but there are plenty here who received their NOA2 like a month or two later than others who were getting it around their NOA1 date.

I'm saying this because if this happens I don't want you to get this upset, as it very well can happen, and to keep your expectations as low as possible, as it does you no good at all to get this stressed. You two will be together soon, as will all of us May filers. Just please have patience, and lets have fun in the May thread while some of our friends here get approvals, and the time will come for you, and myself, and everyone else here. Just keep your fingers crossed and, while I wouldn't suggest having faith in the government, just remember how much stronger the relationship will be and realizing the value of it with waiting. Hell, you and Vito even get to see each other in two weeks! I haven't seen Betty since April and the costs of a Christmas ticket ($1800) is probably too much for both of us to afford, with me moving out and needing to spend money on furniture for us.

Just be happy for the approvals coming in and know yours is coming soon.

I understand the reasons why you are so desparate/anxious to have a noa2 before Vito gets there, Hannah. And I really, truly hope you get it this week. For Melannie and I it isnt going to matter much if its this week or next, and if it were possible I know we'd gladly let you cut in line if that was an option.

I hope you'll get yours this week, but I also hope you'll be able to stand the disapointment if you dont. USCIS seems to be much better at letting us all down than they are at anything else!

I know most of you have seen the thread about why USCIS processing times are growing these last couple months.
I wonder if its true, or its just another of those rumors that runs rampantant about the men-in-black.....I mean USCIS. I think thats one of the biggest problems, how little they tell us about whats really going on. Its run like some type of secret police organization or something.......

i'm thinking i need to make my self a to do list to keep my self busey. and maybe feel like i'm getting somewhere. just i felt so overwhelmed when i did that last time like there was too much to do.

I'd just say it's a lot like other government administrative jobs. I see this in my college campus too, when I worked there with the staff as a campus library lab assistant / admin. It's an attitude of "I'll get to it when I get to it". It takes the employee committing murder to lose their job. This is what concerns me about the adjudicators, if they're in the same position. Then you're entirely at the behest of someone else, much like your chances of getting turned back at POE with a pending K1.

Anyways, plenty of people do get their approvals so I don't want this to make it seem like I'm cynical. Just realistic, but very upbeat about it. In all honesty I didn't expect my NOA2 until January. When it gets into November and still no NOA2, then I'll get concerned. I sure as hell hope not though.

Hannah, have you started putting together Interview stuff? That takes a lot of time. I started in August and man, it's a lotta work. I'm compiling chats and emails (I drained my printer's ink cartridge at work...oops...... .. and I have to go through and "censor" which ones I can include ) Also compiling phone and skype records, an album of pics, photocopies of boarding passes, etc. That's something you could do in the meantime.

I'm getting ready for that too. I've been saving all call logs from Vonage and ready to print them out. Looks like it's about 150 pages of phone calls. In the first month of Vonage, a year or so ago, when I was doing part time work study, full time school, I was averaging 8,000 minutes a month with her. That didn't include the cell phone time. Now, working full time, its around a reasonable 3,000.

Not going to include many chat transcripts as they include personal data, same with emails. I think the 2394829034 phone calls we have, as well as my UPS receipt sending her birthday present, is enough. It cost me $250 to send her birthday present, about as much as what I spent on her presents. Ouch.

Weekends are slow, but we have seen a few approvals in the past week, which is great! We are following.....

I have everything ready - mock forms filled in, police report, med docs, passport pictures, tax returns (his), lots of evidence and all that is let for me to do is print off a few phone bills. Ahhhhh.... Just waiting on the go ahead from CSC!

Apparently you just need your number from the Nvc that apply to your case. Well thats what I was told from countless asks on here.

"You can't schedule the medical until you've been given an appointment."

who told you this? i was given different answers?

From what I've read, you can schedule your medical while you are waiting for Packet 3 to arrive--I believe one of the January filer's fiance did that. I think you just need your embassy number (for UK filers, it would be "LONXXX..."). I could be wrong, however...
