Hi Everyone! I am a new member. I sent out my package 3 to Montreal on May 12, 2008. I know through Canada Post that they have delivered my package but how can I tell if it is in the system in Montreal. The reason why I am so worried about it is because the Montreal Consulate told us that they mailed my package 3 to me and my lawyer on March 15, 2008 but we never received it and they had to mail us another package which we ended up receiving at the end of April. I am really worried that they are going to mail my interview date and we won't recieve it like we didn't recieve the first package 3. Thanks!

Only pay for the call if is long distance. You will need the case number issued by NVC.

I dont know about canada, but you can email the embassy as well. Thats what we did. Also they claimed they sent our packet almost 2 months ago but we never received it. We just kept emailing the embassy and the day we knew thy received our papers we sent our packet 3 in.

I would recommend calling DOS over emailing the consulate anyday. Sometimes Montreal replies, sometimes they completely ignore you. It's a crapshoot. But calling DOS will always get you the right info.

Also, you might want to join or at least have a look at Liz's Montreal spreadsheet.

Sometimes it takes Montreal awhile to acknowledge your P3. A lot of the numbers on the spreadsheet are just an average of one week later, but for example, mine took almost a month for them to finally acknowledge (even though I had the tracking to prove it had been delivered).

Thank you everyone for all the information. Can I just give them my montreal case number or do I have to give them the other number (NVC#)? If I have to give them my NVC number where do I find that? I'm so confused!

You just give them your case #. Then they will ask for the beneficiary's name, sometimes the petitioner's name as well.

PM Liz to be added to the spreadsheet. Her name is Liz_legend_n_Ol or something like that, not sure if I have the underscores and capitalizations in the right place. You'll see her name in that thread I posted before, and you can click on it to PM her. There is also a link to the spreadsheet in her signature.
