The US Embassy was not issuing the Marriage "form" that is why they hired a lawyer. They were married in the Ministry's office, and the lawyer told the ministry she was never married, and in reality she was divorced, but, by only one week. (I guess she was having trouble getting the divorce)

well i'm kinda confused do you mean that she got married with the egyptian misistry of justice in egypt
which mean she went to the usa embassy in cairo and she got the marriage form and then they went to the egyptain ministry of justice to get married?
#2 to get married in egypt please note that if you are a female American citizen previously married, you may only remarry in Egypt at least 90 days after your divorce or 130 days after the death of your former spouse. If you are pregnant, you can only remarry after the birth of the baby.
so she was divorced and remarried before the 90 days yes?
i have been thinking if she went to the usa embassy in cairo and she got the marriage form and then they went to the egyptain ministry of justice to get married so why the marriage license is not valid ??
so i think they got married islamic (orfi) and then they notozied that in the court right???
yeah thats what i thought
we had that problem when my fiancee was here in Egypt last time .
the USA embassy was not issuing the Marriage "form"
and the only way to get married (legally) for the USA embassy is by them (the form)
and i know how Egyptian lawyers used americans to get thier money they just care about money .
i really don't know what to say
its illegal marriage and she can't file for k3 visa
so the only way is k1 visa
but if the USA embassy find out that she was lieing she would end up in jail so sad to say that just want to be honest .(remember thats what they will tell you when you will file for the visa )
i don't know if the USA embassy have the capability to know if you are married or not
but i'm sure they are not stupid there and they are so smart
and yeah i remember something
there is a couple here in visa journey and they were married like your friend
and the USA embassy asked her fiance (are you married her when we were not issuing the form?) and he said yes . and then the guy who was interviewting her fiance said well .ok. i just want to make sure that you say the truth and it wont affect on your k1 visa and he got his visa and now he is in USA
good luck and best wishes for her and for ya
