Yeah, I miss his enthusiasm.

Yep, I noticed that too. Seems odd that he wouldn't even peek in here, and he never said anything about leaving. He seemed like a 'techie' that is never a few steps away from a computer. My wife had been talking with his fiance, and I had some questions for him, but I can't get a hold of him...

His girl's interview is very soon so he's probably got bigger fish to fry, for the moment.
I expect to see him back here in the next week or so. I'm sure he'll stop by here first and then be right back OT before he logs out.

It's good to hear the man finally found a life outside of this virtual world. Good for him. One should never worry when someone disappears from VJ; it just means he or she is "living" for a chance rather than wasting hours upon hours here.

Hey all,
Wow, thanks for worrying about me.

Life is INSANE at the moment. I've been working long hours, I'm moving my daughter out to live here in CA, and Nadya and I have had to move the interview out to August. (don't ask please) Anyway, I do keep meaning to drop by for the occasional howdy, but never seem to find a free moment.
I do want to take a moment to congratulate those who have had successful interviews, and I know of at least one marriage (yay Kevin and Natasha!!!) Apologies for not getting around to this earlier. I'll try to poke my head back in more often.

Mox has obviously taken his toys and gone home. So for those waiting for his reappearance...as they say in NYC...forget about it.
Mox is not alone in leaving through the back door. There are others who've taken their toys and gone home recently...although I'm sure there's plenty of PMing going on between some of the special boys. Kazan has shown this through his recent cryptic and "insider" comments.
Satellite was right...these forum friendships are a facade and empty as a Russian vodka bottle...just anonymous posters taking on some contrived persona until they get bored or annoyed or pushed on to the next forum or internet oasis. Digital Darwinism...the weak move on to safer ground.
Now I'm taking my toys and going over the hill. Goodbye and good luck to those of you on true visa journeys.

I don't think that's at all what Satellite meant.
I've been really busy lately myself and haven't had near the time to post. But I've still made great friendships here (and other places too). Not everybody who hangs around VJ is looking to use 'friendships' to get information that benefits them and when the goal is reached, vanish.

You beat me to it. Also means someone a closeted gay man will use for cover, like if you went to a social event and brought an escort for appearances sake only. Or it can be somebody completely non-existant, like the girlfriend you mention but nobody ever meets.
I knew having a gay college roommate would come in handy one day.

There's a lot of assumptions in that quote, one of which is that someone who spends a lot of time on VJ (or some other activity) is doing nothing but. I've explained before that I have the fortune (or misfortune, depending on how I feel that day) to work at a computer. I'm a very efficient multitasker, a fast reader, and a fast typist. So while it may appear that I spent a lot of time on VJ, I actually spent very little time actively engaged in the site. Lately my new job hasn't allowed me to be as flexible (lot of time spent in a cold data center away from my desk), and some things--like VJ--have had to be back-burnered. But that's not to say that my life has suddenly transformed into something completely different than it was.
Some things never change. Because Satellite cannot possibly conceive of anything outside of his own sphere of understanding, he applies broad all-encompassing assumptions to all his observations. This is probably the formula for a successful lawyer in our closed-minded society, but IMHO does not make for a good lawyer.

One of the principle constituents of a lawyer is dropped from a cow, the consistency of which is determined whether they are on grass or grain. Posted by a practicing lawyer of 20+ years. If you take yourself to seriously others won't!
