My wife went to Ahemdabad to get the PCC but she was denied the PCC because they wanted the interview letter. She did take the copy of NOA2 with her and all of the supporting evidence(passport, marriage certificate, and even the local police clearance certificate). However, they still refused. I really wanted her to get the PCC before the DS230 is generated so that I can send it in as soon as I get it. However, this PCC looks like to be a major hold up in the process. I asked NVC about what interview letter the ahemdabad passport agency wanted and they said interview letter that they need is the request letter that NVC sends you after you pay your IV fee bill.

Is there a "request letter" in the DS-230 package? Is this request letter the instructions for DS-230? Does anyone have a copy of this that they can share(ofcourse with personal info removed)? Has anyone else gone through this process at ahemdabad and what did it take to get the PCC?

Please advise me asap so I can get this squared away. I'm hoping that my choice of agent is accepted this week and I can pay the IV fee bill by end of week so that DS-230 is generated next week.

My wife had the same problem (through Hyderabad though). Maybe you can ask your spouse to print the article from the following link and then try it.

Also, make sure your wife's passport is valid for at least one year. Apparently, Passport office requires one year validity to issue PCC (Bull s**t)!!!

my husband from HYDERABAD got his PCC in a week.. they did not ask for anything like approval letter or interview letter...

i dont know why ur spouses had a difficult time..

Exactly.... My wife also got her PCC last week with no problem from the Hyderabad passport office. Sometimes they can be real #######!!! Excuse my french.

my husband got pcc from surat..1st they said they need interview letter but my husband showed them my passport copy than they did issue the PCC

The indian rules changes city to city but this much i didn't knew that.

really unpredictable, I got my pcc from SSP office in 8days including the investigation but pcc from passport office chandigarh is still pending and they just need to check my file number and send me the already prepared PCC

The format is helpful but you should also have the proper docs
otheriwse they will not consider your request and after so many visits when you will be so frustrated from all this and when you ask for help then you be asked for undertable money even after that no surety.

Thanks guys, its just frustrating to find that some people can get it without any issues and some are able to get it so easily.
I think most people have taken the NVC letter which I don't have and don't know which one they are referring to. Once she receives the DS-3032, I'll have her try to get it again. I will also have her print out the DS-230 packet and NVC process documents.

Just an update, my wife is still struggling to get the PCC from them. They are demanding an interview letter which is impossible to get. So I am requesting anyone here who has paid the IV fee bill, can you please post a copy of cover sheet that you can print after you pay the IV fee? You can remove the barcode and any other personal info(just put the tag BENEFICIARY NAME,etc instead) Also, is the online coversheet the same as listed in the James's shortcut here?

I'm trying to find out if I will be getting any document from NVC after I pay my IV fee bill that states that I need to get a PCC before they can continue to work on my case.

Also, she is trying to obtain the PCC from the regional passport office in Ahmedabad. Some people are able to get the PCC from the local police station in ahmedabad but that's not what she's trying to get.

but ur wife needs from police office and from passport office too. my husband sent me both from hyd.. he lived there all his life..

maybe u can ask ur wife to showur appproval noice of action 2 from uscis, and print the online instructions for ds230 from nvc website.. as more proof to show u really need it..??

They wanted the cover letter that comes with the DS-230 packet. FYI, it's the same letter that's listed in the James Shortcut so you can wait for the DS-230 packet to arrive or if you were planning to use JS cover letter anyways to submit the DS-230, you can show them that letter(of course with your information).
