To all VJ guys...

Here is the final draft of the NVC document. I have added the NVC's crazy RFE message too here. I encourage everybody to use this version 1.5 and discard all my previous versions.

If you follow this path, you can get out of NVC in one month time good.gif good.gif good.gif

Good luck to everybody star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Sgr, that was so funny rofl.gif rofl.gif rofl.gif I am so glad to hear that - at least prepare a document to speed up eveybody's life in NVC star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

I wish you and everybody in USCIS good luck and pray for a faster approval soon good.gif I can feel the heat whoever filed in 2007 Jul/Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec timeframe and still waiting. All the fee increase and addition of those 1,500 staff completely screwed up the FIFO system. Now it is a kind of Las Vegas system star_smile.gif

lotofpatience,

This is a great document. Thanks for doing it.

But I think the time line is misleading and can create false hope. It can take month for NVC to assign a case number. It can take them few weeks before generating DS-3032. It can even take couple weeks just to accept DS-3032 (even by email)

Your case is moving real fast and I am happy for you.

We can save some time by using online payment. But everything remains the same. Some are real fast some will take months.

I hope and pray that everyone will pass NVC real quick.

Loto - you rule! If I wasn't already married .... LOL

FYI my AOS payment posted already! I've sent off my AOS package - now just hoping there's no problem with the AOS packet ... I guess I'm expecting a
"missing document" message once they enter it in the system and before I pay/submit my Ds230 packet ...

The problem is, if there's a problem with the AOS package, how do we tell? LOL .... We get a "missing document" message regardless of the status of the packet lol ...

Congrats Rajee for your successful AOS fee payment online !

My AVR message is still same - crazy NVC message devil.gif I called operator on Monday and confirmed that there is no issue with AOS package. When we get physical copy from NVC, then we'll have more detailed info about "missing document". By the time, our beneficiary's interview will be over at the U.S consulate star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

IMPORTANT:-
Whenever AOS or IV fee bills are paid online, complete the transaction as quick as possible. Never leave logged in session idle for a long time. Also, never press browser BACK button, never use any buttons such as REFRESH etc on the browser. Always use the controls provided by Dept. of State website. Make sure to press PAY button only once, no double clicking...

I have used Internet Explorer. Others who completed the transactions in other browsers such as Firefox, Netscape etc. can post their experience here.

Hey guys - just a quick question ... I got my IIN number a while ago and have since paid my AOS bill online without a glitch...

At the time I got the IIN, the guy at NVC also told me about a Beneficiary ID ... I didn't have anywhere on the site to list that ID, so I pretty much ignored it ...

Today, I finally got a reply from NVC for an earlier email I had written requesting my IIN (before I had gotten it on the phone) ... The email reply I got today gave me the BENEFICIARY ID and said "Please be advised that the IIN is ... " (and the Beneficiary ID # was given) ...

SOOOOO - do I have a problem? I paid the AOS with the IIN that I was given on the phone and it worked ...

HELP lol

SO u cant pay the fee with credit card through the online payment system huh? BTW i just recieved the IV Fee bill hard copy in the mail yesterday i dont assume that would have the IIN on it would it? Must i still call the NVC operators on monday to procure that Number?

Thanks for the useful Document

you have mentioned that "Original 2 Police Certificates of the Beneficiary – One from the Passport office (PP Office PCC seems to be optional now) and the other from the Local District Police Station"

But on NVC website http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...195.html#police they have not mentioned about Police Certificates of the Passport office ....

Please correct me if i m wrong ....

I actually was wondering the same thing - so I called the NVC and spoke to someone. They suggested having BOTH - so my wife is getting both ... There is a section on "reciprocity" on the state.gov site regarding IV information ... he was referring to that and suggesting that people read that for more details.
AandLKC
I looked into it is misleading information .... Now check the Chennai Embassy site Req

http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/documentation.html#police
rajee
My wife is getting a brand new passport made - with her married name - she'll pick it up tomorrow (Monday). I don't think that she would "officially require" a passport police background check now because her passport is no longer going to be "older than 6 months" ... but since it's something that would be good to be on the safe side, I see no reason to avoid getting it if its easy enough ...

So, as I've said, we plan to submit both to the NVC.

Hope that helps smile.gif
rajee
They have put it in the system today that they've received my AOS packet on 5/19 (even though it was actually received on Friday at 7:30am lol) ... Hoping to see the $400 invoice online SOON (I was accepted as an agent yesterday) ...

Good news Rajee !!!

To be safer, get PCC from both Passport Office and Police Station. I did so.
rajee
LOTO - I appreciate your congrats! smile.gif

Thanks for the input on the PCC - I called NVC and then verified online that the fact that my wife's passport is less than 6 months old allows us to just send the Passport office check ... It's already on its way here, so it better be enough by itself since I checked and double-checked lol

Thanks though smile.gif

Yes, if PP is less than 6 months old, you don't need PP office PCC. Rajee, as you mentioned PP office check or PP biographic page will reveal it star_smile.gif

I think since IV bill phase onwards NVC takes couple of weeks to close the case. I called NVC AVR yesterday and was heard that "We received check of response blah blah blah..." That means they have NOT closed our case. To confirm it, we need to call the operator today.
rajee
Actually, loto, what I learned from NVC and the reciprocity page (specific to India) on state.gov website is that ... For India, at least, a new passport (less than 6 months old) requires a PASSPORT office certificate but NOT a district police office certificate ... That seemed kind of ironic to me since I was thinking the opposite all along but the NVC representative was quite clear about it and referred me to the link also ...

The link states the following:

"All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police certificates from the local Passport Office. These are usually more dependable than those obtained at a local level and indicate that the subject had no serious criminal convictions on record at the time of passport issuance. Applicants whose Indian passport was issued within the past six months may present just the Passport Office Police Certificate, and need not obtain additional police clearances."

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3582.html

The link will give you a lot of information about a lot of things - but what applies most to us is the police report section and I pasted the first paragraph above ... having made a new passport actually had MULTIPLE benefits for us by saving time in this way, also! smile.gif

Thanks Loto! I have been working with your paperwork to get through the NVC process. good.gif So far, the only thing giving us a problem is the DS-3032. Ohhh how I wish for even the 6 to 8 weeks for processing. Try 12 to 16 weeks depending on whether it was filled out correctly, NVC didn't misplace it, and that the postal service didn't loose it, never mind lost in cyber space, weather, and other reasons I just don't wanna know about.

You don't have any issues with email process, but, did you follow the template posted in VJ under James Shortcut page ? Optionally, you can mail a hard copy of DS-3032 signed by the beneficiary. This is optional just in case. Check online payment system everyday to see IV fee bill is invoiced. That will confirm the acceptance of agent designation. Good luck przy good.gif

I am still on vacation Hyd. Will be back on June 1st. Our case has not been closed yet as of yesterday, of course that was a holiday.

Yes, I saw your timeline and you're done from your side. Now 1 to 2 weeks wait to complete the case, that's all star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Vacation is just wonderful, great time with my "lackofpatience", had fun in Darjeeling for 5 days, having lot of tasty food and gaining weight, Darjeeling had 10C (50-60F), but here it is horrible weather - heat is over 100F devil.gif

Hey guys - I've just sent off my DS-230 packet today -- going full speed ahead with the CR-1 for now!!!

My IV Bill status went to "PAID" today and I printed out the barcode cover letter and, luckily, got my wife's papers today also ... So off the packet went - Express Mail via USPS - expected in NH tomorrow by noon!

Last time my I-129F was touched was 5/26 ... so God only knows if that's about to get approved soon ... NVC representative wasn't helpful with what I "should" do ... but she gave me a number for a Visa Office in Washington, D.C. that I have to try to call soon ...

Good luck to everyone!

Well my friends .... my case has definately left Vermont 'at last' and hopefully winging it's way to NVC.
I cannot believe I am now allowed to come and join you .... Loto and Hyd, you're nearly finished already .... it's nice to know this part can go sooo fast.

Loto, I've got some dues to pay .... where do I sign??? laughing.gif

I've got a question??

Can I put me .... the little English spouse .... as the agent ??

Reason being, Kip's off to see his sick Aunt and then got a ton of Army stuff on and then he's on a flight to me in July.
Basically, he won't be around much in June to do this NVC stuff .... his AOS stuff should be winging its way to me anyway for the interview, so I can just fedex that back to the US when the time comes for it at NVC

Will I be able to use his bank debit card, to pay for the stuff online ? ... I'm not on his account yet and didn't want to confuse them by using an English account or run up any more foreign charges.

Hopefully that doesn't sound too complicated.
Can't wait to get my case number .... it's still not in the system yet, hopefully Friday good.gif

Do you know, I haven't even celebrated yet ..... so I'll do a dance now kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Sarah, welcome to NVC club kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif I am eager to see you there star_smile.gif Dues must be paid to me, DOS will accept only AOS and IV fee bills star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Yes Sarah, you can be the agent if Kip is busy. You will lose only 2 to 3 extra days in NVC process, which is the international express mail process for DS-230. That's all. AOS package mail delay will not be an issue since that is a parallel process with DS-3032. Also, use your hubby's U.S bank checking/savings account to pay online. You need his bank routing number and account number, that's all.

I am out of NVC process now star_smile.gif

Yes hyd, you should be done in a week kicking.gif Soooooooooo, aggressive estimate is again 4 to 6 weeks in NVC. I have seen few folks who have completed within this timeframe. Mine is 41 days, which is 1 day less than 6 weeks. I haven't delayed anything except emailing DS-3032. I should have done couple of days earlier when AOS bill was generated. I just waited for AVR and it has always a lag of 1 or 2 days.

I am still in India and will be coming back to the U.S on June 1st.

My police certificates arrived today, which was the last thing I was waiting on ... my DS-230 is finally ready.
Kip sends out his I-864 package later today, and should be with me within in a week.

Wow Loto, Hyd and Rajee .... I can't believe NVC has flown so fast for you .... it wasn't that long ago we were all making jokes about VSC. But here I am, about a month behind you guys .... thank goodness.

Arequipa4us, yes, I agree ... Loto has done us the greatest of services for the NVC flowchart .... I have it stuck to my wall for easy reference .... along with all my 'to do' lists laughing.gif

Thankyou Loto for the information on how I'm going to pay for it all .... I was a little worried about it as Kip won't be available. You have eased my mind considerably .... thank you luv.gif

Just waitng for that NVC case number and I'm on my way yes.gif

DS-230 packet arrived at NVC today!

"Your item was delivered at 11:01 AM on May 29, 2008 in PORTSMOUTH, NH 03801 to VISA . The item was signed for by R AUSTIN."

Hopefully we're less than 2 weeks away from "CASE COMPLETE"! Right now I'm at 22 days since NVC received my I-130 ... record pace so far! lol

Congrats to everyone who has finished the NVC process - and thanks, from all of us, to loto who made it all possible for the rest of us to rush through this process!
