If I had known our approval would come today, I would have not purchased a ticket to go and see my husband in Australia on Monday. I would like to attend the interview with him and we return home together in August, but that may not be possible. Depending on how fast things move from this point on, he may have to go alone. What do you think lotofpatience?

Heaven , I was also in a similar situation like yours... I went for 2 weeks vacation in May, the ticket had purchased before my I-130 approval...

I think it is ok for him to attend the interview alone, I don't see any issues...

Finally my IV bill got invoiced today, and only thing mystery to me whether my email got accepted or was my mailed hard copy of DS-3032, anyways it good news for me, so now on july 7 I can mail ds 230 to NVC.

Update: Called the NVC automated System and is saying DS 3032 received on July 2. So that means my mailed hard copy was approved and so my email to NVC was no use..

chintan, I bought it from Air India website. One way, Rs.37,650, from Cochin to New Jersey. It was before the price hike.

Ok.. I did some research too, prices are still the same for September. I can only book the tix once I get the interview date. which I should know in 2 weeks. As of now I think British Airways is one option as they allowing extra 23KG of baggage for free, as the tix is priced at 38K.

Is it ok to visit different VFS office. We have one VFS office in ahmedabad (where my husband lives) but is it ok for him to visit the mumbai VFS office prior to the interview since he planning to go to mumbai ahead of interview time.. and also.. also can collect the passport after the interview at the mumbai VFS right.. not the consulate.. Also, let say, my husband goes to ahmedabad VFS office, than still will he be able to collect his passport from Mumbai VFS office ??

Confused from now.. and do not know the "interview date" LOLL..

bani, I think he should be ok to visit Mumbai VFS office. Yes, he can collect his passport from Mumbai VFS office on the same day or the next business day between 5:30PM and 6:00PM. If he doesn't collect, it will be mailed out to the address he specifies at VFS office or at his Indian address on DS-230 form.

Case Update.

Today I finally mailed my DS 230 to NVC will all the required Docs.
IV fee was paid online July 3, Changed to Paid status July 4.


Next step: waiting for interview letter , Should happen by end of July.

Still not assigned the interview date for our case... Case completed on July 2nd.. NVC operator told.. this week they are scheduling the interviews and by the end of next week, will know the date for sure.. Fingers crossed...    I hope ..i hear the good news very soon..

I have spent countless hours on the phone with NVC and they state that they do not accept payment from the online website: https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/Invoice.aspx

I paid the $400 IV Bill online there but for weeks says in process. I called and they said to get the money back from the bank and have to wait for official bill. They do not accept payment from that website.

Any suggestions? My bank says the money is already transferred and won't give it back but NVC says they don't have it. Sent in dozens of emails to nvcquery@ but no response excpet automated replies to email.

US checking, no back button or refresh. Got email receipt, took money from bank, called NVC again yesterday and they show "IN PROCESS" but have not received money yet. Called bank and bank says can not refund money as NVC already took money.

Please try to convince different NVC live operator with the Confirmation Number: 1080-7018-0818-3578-1303. If that doesn't work out, you'll have to pay again. Probably, it may be the bug of the online payment system. Sorry to hear that.

One question, How long does it take for DS 230 to show up in AVR system at NVC, my DS-230 was received on july 8, and the AVR is still telling my I am missing some docs, which is related to return of DS 230 to the NVC according to customer service

AVR will change when your case is completed.

Just wanted to add an input, you can also get IIN through emailing NVC enquiry.

Takes around 5 days or may be more for others, but I just thought of sending an email a week ago to check if they answer back or not and they did with the IIN.

So if there are any new approved cases, you can try emailing as soon as you get your NVC case number, email format will be simply asking for Invoice Identitiy Number along with your NVC case number, both petitioner and beneficiary's name and Date of birth.

One more question, As I said before the AVR was telling me that I am some docs and a letter was sent to me on July 7, which is related to return of DS 230 to the NVC according to customer service, and now on July 9 it is saying same thing but now it is telling me a letter was sent on July 8 not july 7 as told yesterday..

does it mean anything or not. and as of july 9, my ds 230 is not entered into the system.

Case update

NVC AVR got updated today , and now it is saying that NVC has received the Checklist response , so it saying DS 230 has been received by NVC on July 9. took them 2 days to update the AVR system.

So now it would another 2 weeks before the case gets completed.

Good luck Chintan So, again it confirms NVC's AVR update is NOT only on Tue and Sat. Any day, it can be updated. Also, online invoicing for AOS and IV fee can even happen on Sat and Sun too.

One thing I have come to notice, AVR is no reliable and as I have not received the I-864 package of instruction from NVC, As the AVR was saying this message about 1 1/2 week ago, it is interesting what AVR is saying some times, and this week it also said the Instruction package is in the mail on July 7. Lets see if I get this package in the mail or not this time

and second question for loto: did your wife get any letter from NVC beside the interview letter, as of today my wife has not got any letter from NVC,

NVC mail is damn slow. Yes, I received AOS instructions, DS-3032 instructions, DS-230 instructions, interview letter, all of them. It typically takes 2 to 4 weeks... That's why in the olden days, one used to take 4 months to complete NVC process

If you use this process with the new online system you will be done in about a month. NVC start date was June 2nd, finished on July 10th. Pesky holidays slowed me down

I mailed in my IV fee bill sometime last week. The phone message hasn't changed stating that I'm missing some docs after they processed my I-864. What I would like to know, can I mail in my DS-230 stuff now using the method outlined here or should I wait until they processed my IV fee bill and generate the DS-230?

Since you mailed in your Payment this way will not help you, you will need to use James Shortcut and follow the instructions there. They will need to generate your DS-230 first before you can do anything.
