Fellow trekkers,
I was just pouring over our pictures, getting ready for the interview, and I noticed that in several of them, they show us wearing our engagement rings. The thing is, there's no label on it that says "I am an engagement ring". It looks just like a ring married people wear. So, what's to prevent the co from saying, I see that you are married, because you have a ring on your finger in these photos; and therefore ineligible for the K1 visa.
Also, did you guys wear your engagement rings to the interview?
Thanks

My fiancee used the standard diamond engagement ring. I think it was pretty obvious. If there is a Peruvian equivalent for both his/hers then it should just be made clear if asked about them on both of your fingers. Otherwise, you can always remove them for the interview.

Definately wear your engagement ring for the interview. I have never heard of man having an engagement ring.
If the pictures show both wearing wedding type bands, I probably would not include those pictures. Just my personal opinion.

I agree with the above posters, if you have pictures wearing rings that look like wedding bands don't bring those pictures to the Embassy, the CO may be unfamiliar with engagement rings for men, and might take it the wrong way.
I'm planning on wearing my engagement ring for the interview, but my ring looks like an engagement ring not a wedding band.

Yeah, this is what I was worried about. We didn't really plan on rings, untill we were to get married back here in the states. But we bought wedding type bands that we decided were our engagement rings, and then would use them later on for when we get married.
We weren't thinking, it was all in excitement, at the prospect of being in union with someone you love, and that being the symbol; and poof, the pictures got taken with the wedding bands on.
Thanks for the advice. We will weed the pictures that show us with wedding bands out. Grrrrrrrrrr

Hi!
I'm wearing my engagement ring in several pictures and it looks like a wedding ring. No problems. But yeah, a male engagement ring is a little weird. I don't know anyone who has done it...
Good luck!

All of this is anecdotal evidence and really no one can predict what the CO will think and I am by no means suggesting to wear them or not to wear them but I just wanted to mention my experience-
My husband (then fiance) and I both had rings that are the same rings we wear now as wedding bands. They were are engagement rings and became our wedding rings. We had also included the receipt for the rings in our K1 packet as evidence of our engagement. We wore them in many of the pictures we had sent in and also to our interview. Nothing was ever brought up and to be honest I never even thought about it.
My only thought would be if you have already sent in pictures of the two of you wearing the rings and then you went to the interview and didn't have them on that might be an issue....
good luck with whatever you decide

On another note I always find myself obsessing about a small detail of the process ....so far it's never been the right detail!!
