My husband is 26.. He is a citizen of the UK.. Never has driven before! Does anyone know if he has to get a 'permit' to drive first in the US or does his age mean that he wont have to? (i'm not sure if there is an age cut-off?) or like would he take the written test and then when passed he could immediately take the drivers test?.. (i've let him drive before while he was visiting.. definately a natural!)

Thanks!
Lisax
It will definitely be no problem getting a license, I'm 25 and just received mine! although I had a UK license for 7 years. I would definitely see if he can get some driving lessons, it definitely shouldn't be a problem. He will have to take the written test, which is very easy, and the drivers test. Go to your local DMV or their website for your state and that should give you the information you need. To apply for a license he will need proof of residency, like his green card, his SS#, a utility bill in his name. As I said check out their website or take a trip to the DMV.
