To my VJ fellow to have supported me through all my ups and downs in the past year, I might sound silly but I was able to get back on track and stop stressing myself with all the good advices I got from you guys and gals!

As easy as it may sound for most of us before the moving, I must admit that the first year in the US is really hard on the couple, even if we are together everyday. There is so much stress going on and so many changes in a short period of time, it can be a real challenge for 2 people to stay in that fairy tale that made it happen in the first place. Real life settles in, and along all the crap that comes with it.

But anyways, enough about that.

Tomorrow me and hubby will be happily married for 1 year, and I am going to thaw out that top part of our wedding cake (Thanks to Carla that reminded me to bring it back from my in-laws's house )

Yes, I agree with you 100% that the first year is definitely a tough one. We will celebrate our 4th anniversary next month so from a little bit further down the road I want to offer you the reassurance that the second year, while it still has its challenges, will be easier and better than the first; the third year becomes even easier and by the 4th year there is a lovely sense of comfortable equanimity that pervades the relationship as you have both learned how to accommodate for the other person in your life and learned what is and isn't important in keeping your relationship thriving. So, once again congratulations! It does get better from here on in:-).

I can't help giggling over the "thawing of the top layer of wedding cake" since Réjean's and my wedding cake was a Dairy Queen ice cream cake that was half-melted by the time we got to the reception. *LOL* That was some damn good cake, though.

Awwww thanks everybody, you are all so sweet!

And the cake was pretty good, considering his mom wrapped it like a champ, 2 layers of waxed paper, 2 layers of aluminium foil, all air tight, and in a ziploc...

The only thing is the fat from the frosting kinda soaked in the cake (almond flavored frosting) so we had only one little piece each and it was ok

Yeah I shouldn't be here...but we made such a nice (and rich dinner) that we actually need a moment to let the food settle
