Can my W-2 from this yearīs taxes be a copy or does it have to be the original? Has anyone sent in just a copy?
It can't be the original, you mailed that to the IRS right ?

also, you can use the irs phone system to request a tax transcript. As soon as your taxes are in the computer, it is available.

Well, one of the originals, but they give you a copy to keep as well. Iīm talking about my copy. Itīs in the US, but my family can scan it and send it to me quickly, if it is okay. I have a printout of the actual taxes from this year, and transcripts from two years past. The form says to send in your w-2s and 1099s as well.

Yes, you can send copy, I did and it was ok.
I did send in my 2007 tax return with my W2 copy not original, and it was accepted by NVC.
