I m waiting for my IV bill from NVC

Please suggest me is this the right time to apply for the police clearance certificate. How long are PCC good for after you receive that

Police department need a copy of the Instruction form demanding PCC to generate the Certificate .
but i don't have it right now since i m waiting for the IV bill ....

For IV bill you can get IIN from nvc inquiry and pay it online.

As per my experiance of pcc , I showed my i-130 approval and told them that i can't process further until you provide me pcc.

i paid 500 rs to local policeman at investigating time and told him to move the document faster.

it took 8 days to get my pcc from district police authority but i applied my pcc from passport on 2nd May and this is still pending.

Credit card wont work, you need your checking or saving account information like you account number and routing number.

PCC is valid for 1 year.

PCC issuance depends on which police officer. In my case, I had submitted I-130 NOA2 and written request, that's all.

what was your experience like in getting the Police Clearance Certficate?

Kman, it was a smooth deal.

PCC from passport office (which may be optional now) is very straightforward. Pay Rs.300, complete the application and submit. They will issue PCC on the same day.

PCC from Police station is little tricky. I had written a request and attached a copy of I-130 approval notice and gave to my wife. They told it would take around 6 weeks to issue it. Then I called my brother-in-law who knew the S.P of that police station. Very next day, the police officer came to my wife's home for inquiry and the next day issued the PCC. However, the standard time is as I told you is around 6 weeks. Sometimes, kickbacks will work in some places. But I recommend to prepare at least 6 to 8 weeks for this procedure. PCC is valid for 1 year. So, there is no harm to collect it in advance.

Thanks Loto. I am going to use your letter without the approval part to see if they will issue the police certificate for my wife. I hope I have your consent.
