Quick question. Will we receive back all of the documents that we have to bring to the interview? I am just curious, as I would like to have a few original copies to bring back to the States with us for when we need them there. I won't get more copies of Glyn's birth certificate or the boys' if we will get them back.

They took the photocopies we provided of everything -- birth and marriage certificates, etc -- and we took the originals home with us. Just make sure to bring photocopies on the day! You can ask them to take a copy, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks, that is what I was hoping. All of these original documents start to add up if you have to keep getting new ones.

it said on my packet 3 all the things that they need a copy of. at the first window you hand over the original and the copy, they make sure they are in fact the same thing, and then hand back the original. Can't remember if they give it back to you straight away or at the second window, but either way, you get them back before you leave the embassy.

By the way, somewhere I remember reading (probably packet 3, but maybe 4) that if you don't provide a copy they will charge £1 per copy they have to make, so make sure to do your own.

As a side note, all the evidence we sent in with our RFE we got back with our NOA2 star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Just bring your originals AND photocopies so they can verify it's the same document (they do not need to be certified copies); and you'll get back your originals right there.
