I got approved both petition at the same time k-3 and i-130 but i came here in US on k-3...i applied for social security n work authroization...and i got both....
now i wanna know about my I-130 what happend to my peition ? becoz my petition i-130 was approved last year in June... can any body tell me that how long it is good for?
waiting for reply
They'll just reference the approved I-130 when you adjust status. If you want to go back home and get an immigrant visa based on the approved I-130 instead, you file an I-824, pay a hefty fee and in a few months you can travel back home and have another interview for another visa.
Most people just stick around and adjust status.
I'm not sure how long the I-130 is technically good for but I've seen one example where it was reactivated after three years. My wife filed to adjust status about 15 months after her I-130 was approved, with no issues at all.
