Good Afternoon everybody,

Today, I went to the mail and there was our checklist for missing documents. Which that would be our DS230 with supporting documents, that we have not sent out yet. My husband is working on getting them to me, so don't have them in hand just yet.

My question is......since I received this checklist for missing documents, would I be getting another coversheet for the DS230 or is this the one?? I have no clue and most VJr's use the shortcuts and we didn't, so I am confused about this issue.


Our cover sheet says>>> (Checklist Letter Response) and has my husbands name and CR1 at the bottom of the page. I know that we have to send it in with the ds230 but would we be getting another Coversheet for the DS230 itself, since this one is just a checklist??

Any feedback would be great.

Well, since I have not received my DS 230 instructions package yet and used JSC to send our documents to NVC which the automated message confirmed that they received yesterday, I would say that what you have received is the DS 230 instruction package named check list, I would say they are the same thing since it's telling you what documents are being required to be sent. I would send the documents with that check list cover sheet IF it states your barcode case#.
But to reinsure that I would call NVC and ask the operator if the check list you've just received is indeed the barcode coversheet that must be returned with the required docs.

I also made a coversheet using the shortcuts, because I didn't know when I would receive the coversheet. But I am NOW waiting on my husbands documents and application, He sent them out last week, but seems like some issue with the carrier or something.
I am just ready to have Case Complete!!!!!!

can i ask what is the ds 3032? does it apply to K1 fiancee visa?

Hi wizardfitz, DS 3032 only applies to IR/CR1 visa process, it is basically the choice of agent who will be the person responsible for receiving the mail from NVC. Usually the US spouse is named the agent.

I'm the petitioner for my wife CR1/CR2... I paid the I864 fee online... but now I've been told it was only on a trial basis.

I know the DS-230 has been produced per the message that the DS3032 was received. I've have read now NVC has added a random number to the barcoded coversheet so I must wait for the actual forms from the NVC.
Is this true, must I wait ? IF so, how long does it take for the to mail the DS-230 ?

First of all if you have paid your I-864 Fee bill then you should be expecting DS-230 bill or they can send you AOS package.
BUT as you paid your AOS bill online you can print the coversheet provided by online payment system for AOS package
after few days you can pay your DS-230 fee online and print the coversheet send that along with your DS-230.

Hello, how long does it take to get your packet from NVC after receiving your approval notice? I was just approved on 5/21. Also, what is the difference in the CR1 and the IR1?

It took me about 1 month to receive my packet... I had already paid it online a few days earlier.

CR1 is for a person married less that 2 years and they receive a 2 year green card.
IR1 is for individuals married 2 years or more, IR1 recipients receive a 10 year green card.

It takes almost 2-3 weeks but you can call NVC on 603-334-0700 and enter your CIS file number you will get the status of your case.

I don't have a problem with the AOS coversheet. My question concerns the DS-230...

My orginal question was pertaining to using the Shortcut to the IV fee bill as opposed to waiting for bill to come snailmail. How long does it take to arrive and is it true you can no longer fabricate a coversheet that the NVC will accept as in the past with the James' Shortcut.
