This is sad that some people wait for so long. It would be more humane to be honest and reject the application, so the spouses can work on alternative options. One viable option that we still can control and follow thru regardless of the USCIS is to call ABC News, tell them your story, and have them film you selling everything, quitting your job, and leaving this country to be with the spouse. And state clearly why. There is only so much isolation, helplessness, and hopelessness a person can take... A less extreme option is to take long leave of absence (I'm thinking 4-6 months) from work and try to work things out there, so you'll have the time to be with your spouse and also time to maybe find a job there and live happily ever after. If you have to eat only twice a day and work three jobs to accumulate enough money to do this, well DO IT. We have become slaves of our current jobs, can't even imagine the life without them. It's time for alternative thinking, time to become free from USCIS, free from everything a person can be free from. Time to reclaim some of the power and control we think we don't have, or we think we can't have, or that we readily gave up a long time ago. Wake up, turn off that TV running "Friends" rerun and change your life. Yes, you can (to borrow a line from Obama yes.gif ). Go for it folks, life is only 1, make sure to do it your way!

I will hit the 200 day mark this week. I have contacted my senator and was advised I have to wait until 6 months from the NOA-1 date has passed. It matters not that it took over 3 months to get that NOA-1.

After sitting in the Canadian immigration system for nearly 2 years with no progress (I orginally left the U.S. to join him in Canada), my husband and I have run out of countries to live in (legally) together. Not sure what kind of options I have left if the U.S. system drags on much longer.

It's a wonderful post you wrote, however, it's not always an option to pick up and go to your spouse and live there happily ever after when your spouse's country is in fighting, ppl are locked up in their homes for days because of all the rampant shootings and bombings. Let's face it, not all the countries that our spouses are from are safe. So we have to come up with an alternative to packing our bags and leaving. I'd like to wake up from the VSC nightmare. But ABC is welcome to hear my story of the sad life we ppl 200+ days are living! ClockWatch2.gif
Davida
I'm so sorry to hear about the K1's waiting for 200 + days too. mad.gif I hope they will approve all of us soon.

It's truly unfair they don't include the months waiting for the NOA1, it just adds to the frustration.

It has been 238 days for me at the Vermont Service Center. I have contacted my congressman and Senator. We will see what happens. I can't take this anymore though. I need help. I contacted my congressman a week and a half ago and haven't heard anything from them so today I went to my Senator. I hope something comes of it. Anyone know how long it will take them to contact me about it?

I dont know the Dipsticks story but I do know that Nita&Assad had a long journey because when everything started it was a pettition based on an LPR that she then upgraded to USC when she could. The wait time for LPRs is horrible, my step brother has been waiting since 1996 for his greencard, my fathers wife applied for him in 1995 and he is still going through the immigration process. I really hope that the Dipsticks just didnt come on the forum after they got approved because unless they are LPR it should not take that long, I find it very disturbing that a USC filed an I 130 almost 2 years ago and nothing has happened to their case, if that is the situation.

Hang in there everyone!! I know it's Hard, VERY HARD!!!! I been through it, but to keep you busy, write letters to everyone you can think of!!! Senators, congressman or congresswoman, USCIS Directors, COS, Supervisors, VP Cheney, Laura Bush... Even if you think it might not help, but in the long run it does help because something has to be done to change the system at USCIS!!! They are a really MESSED-UP Government Agency!!!

I think we are over the 250 day mark now. Our I-130 receit date is July 26, 2007. I have called my senator several times, uscis many times, and they all keep telling me i am within the timeline for my receipt date. tomorrow i call them again, and call them all liars!!. I am also going to file a complaint with the Ombudsman on Monday. PLEASE, everyone should do this, complain loud and long to congressmen, senators,vp cheney's office, the secretary of homeland security's office, and yes, even to the president!! Tomorrow I start my letter campaign!! I'm tired of listening to my wife cry with loneliness on the phone, worrying about them being kidnapped, and threats of war from the neighboring countries!! Good luck everyone, my prayers are for all of us who have to endure this misery.

We Just got approved! received email today. kicking.gif

When there's approvals, many of us come to congratulate and wish them well. We then wonder when our approval will come... and if u are entering into day 200, you start to dread each day.. hoping yours will not be the one that gets stuck somewhere in the twilight zone.
But when you see an approval such as yours Davida... then you know there is light at the end ... that long dark tunnel somewhat seems to be shorter! I am trully happy that you were approved.. and for all those past the 200 day mark of waiting... Join forces.. let your voice be heard so that tunnel can close down altogether mad.gif Don't get discouraged and depressed..get active.. if they dont respond to your first complaint.. send them another and another.. until they just wanna see you off their backs!! devil.gif

Thank you debbylyn, it is indeed hard to wait really long and i pray they will improve the process and others will not experience how hard it is, goodluck to all too and i wish to those waiting to receive their approvals soon.
