Hi you all,

My case was completed at the NVC on April 25th. I was wondering how the NVC goes about scheduling interview dates and in what oder it is done (does it have anything to do with when the case was filed??)

My case will be forwarded to the Embassy in Kingston Ja. When i spoke to the rep at the NVC she told me that appoitments are scheduled during the second week of each month.

Thanks for any insight.

Hopefully you'll hear something next week. So how do we find out when the interview is in fact scheduled? Do we have to call them all the time or do they email you, or send a letter? Also....when is the medical scheduled? After the interview is scheduled or is this a seperate letter we need to look for?

Lita, I continued to call until I got the date. They will, in fact, send you a letter (pkt #4) which will give you the interview date and time and instruction on scheduling the medical and getting it done. The medical needs to be completed at least 10-14 days before the interview date. As soon as you get your letter, let Evan schedule the medical for 2 weeks before the interview. If he doesn't get his letter and you are not sure, you can either fax a copy or send it DHL to him. He absolutely needs the letter (either the one from NVC or one from Kingston) with the interview date and time in order to get the medical done.

Mike has not gotten his letter from the NVC. I had emailed Kingston when it was getting close to his medical appointment and they responded with a date for him to pick up a duplicate of the appointment letter. He got the letter from Kingston one week later, but I had already faxed and DHL all the info to him.

Good Luck. It will soon be over.

I have asked question such as who schedules the interview date, NVC or local Consulate for IR/CR1 visas and the answer I've got from other VJ members were that NVC schedules the interview date but is the local Consulate that send us the P4 obviously containing the interview date and request for medical and lab exams.
Regarding the medical exams I've called the phisichian, informed about my age and he instructed me of all the required exams and vacinations I should do so I have almost all done, just have a few left to be done but I thought it would be safer if I had some done in advance for my July interview since local Consulate in Brazil sometimes sends P4 too late leaving not enough time in order to get the results in time for the interview.

After your case is completed I would keep calling NVC until I get an interview date.
