We are fairly early in the K1 process, but I cannot seem to find the answer to this by searching the archives. Could someone tell me when do RFE's (if any) first appear? What I mean is....Is there a possibility of getting one during the time period between the NOA1 and the NOA2? or is this time period just a time when our file is just sitting in a box somewhere, and the RFE's don't begin until after the NOA2. I hope this makes sense. In other words...if there was something wrong on our I129f, and it has now been 61 days since NOA1, would they have notified us by now, or would we only here about any missing or incorrect data on the I129F only after we receive the NOA2? Thanks in advance for any help with this question.

There is nothing that happens interimly.....

Your file sits on a shelf for a very long time (particularly if at CSC). When they look at it for the very FIRST time, they will either approve it or request an RFE.

I received an RFE 4 1/2 months after filing....

Thanks for your responses. This is a very welcoming and helpful forum. I've noticed that each forum, which I have some sort of tie to, has a different "flavor." This one is by far a very exceptional place to be. I really appreciate all of you here.

Assuming nothing has changed in the "Years" since we went through this the NOA1 says your petition has been received. As some one else stated it then sits n sits n sits "somewhere for forever (in our case I think it fell in a crack behind a desk. When it is finally opened and work upon it is at that point that if there were a problem/issue that they would send a RFE only once that is sorted and everything is in order would the NOA2 be issued. In our case we had waited so long beyond the average wait at the time for our service centre thata it was actually a relief to receive the RFE sas it at least proved we hadn't been lost forever.

Thank you for your replies. After I sat and thought about my question, it really did not make much sense, because why would we even receive an NOA2 (which is an approval notice) if we were going to get an RFE? (duh). Thanks for the clarifications.
