Hello,

My fiancee went for her Medial today and everythign went fine except one thing. The doctor told her that she needs the vaccine for the Human Papalomae Virus. They were out of stock of this vaccine and it will cost her 900 Rand plus another day off of work to drive to Joburg to get it. Now the confusion comes up with the fact that no where on her forms from the Embassy does it say she needs this vaccine. She had all the other ones that were listed. Anyone know anything about this? I dont want her to get a vaccine that she doesnt need ecspecially oen that uis so expensive

I heard back from the Embassy and they said that the HPV vaccine is a new reuirement!!! I wrote them and the NVC voiceing my concern over the fact that this is not listed on any of the documents sent to potential immigrats. Not sure if it will do anything, but i figure it was worth a shot to help people in the future.

hi, i also had my medical today and i'm also under 26. the doctor didnt give me the shot, i can get it with my primary care doctor, who then has to email or fax something to the 1st doctor. i'll have my result the day after.
he said it's only 3 months since they require it. i got a list with needed vaccines from the embassy and HPV was on there for females under 26. i only have to get my first shot though...
i know it's very expensive. i'm in the same boat...
