Jackie - glad you survived - be careful
Amal - congrats on the weight loss!
Jeanne - I have a bluejay that likes to hide peanuts in my planter pots on my balcony. My husband was telling me I had a enough flowers and didn't need more. But I had to get a few marigolds - they were pretty and cheap.
Bridget - thanks for the idea about a career center. I just called and their is an orientation to our local one in Spanish on Friday.
T&A - we went to the local office SSA 2 weeks after his arrival - without the EAD stamp. I brought the printout (I think it is in the signature of user TracyTN) in case the workers didn't understand he was eligible. Luckily ours did. You can get the application online and fill out before hand, although it isn't too long.

Has anybody had a problem getting the SS card if their husband didn't get the EAD on arrival? I was wondering about this but my work is telling me that they require the letter that he is given when he applies to put him on my insurance so we will go on Friday. He will have been here 15 days by then. I was told we needed our marriage certificate, visa, passport, I 94 to bring to the office, anything else?
Our news - sent the AOS packet today!!!

Tried not to be too bitchy last night as we printed, reviewed, signed, copied many, many forms.
Positive thoughts for everyone!!!
