My time each day is scarce, so I chose to take the advice of a friend who advised me to call the attorney he hired to complete the papers for him so that he could bring his bride to live with him in the USA.
I called Ed at Brankey and Smith, PC. Ed gave me information in detail as to what I needed to do. His information was accurate, supportive and helpful. Ed paired me with his assistant, Lisa, whom has been wonderful during my entire process. Its not over yet... just a few more months.
I know the frustrations of waiting for receipt numbers, approvals, etc. They handled everything perfectly. Today, I just received notice that my K3 and I-129 was approved. My wife and I are very happy today, as now we see the end in sight.
The papers can be done without an attorney. If you have the time to research, prepare, and satisfy the requirements to bring your spouse or fiance from her country to yours, the information and resources here, at Visa Journey, are excellent. You can find all you need at Visa Journey to complete your requirements. If time is something you don't have, or you need the security of an experienced professional, hire an attorney.
I give a lot of thanks to Ed Brankey of Brankey and Smith, PC. http://www.brankeysmithpc.com/ -- Ed and Lisa, of the law firm, assisted me to make sure that all our details were in order for the K papers. I cannot thank them enough! My wife and I will finally be together.
I am not submitting this as an advertisement for my attorney. As I said, above, "I know the frustrations of waiting for receipt numbers, approvals, etc." I understand the concern of knowing that everything must be correct and accurate where immigration paperwork is concerned. If its not the way "they" want it, you may find yourself starting over from the beginning again. I found this site by chance late in 2006. I was seeking information and decided to email a Visa Journey member, with my questions, who was near the end of the process. He helped me by answering the unknowns. I promised myself that if ever I had something to contribute here that would help others, that I would post on this site, helpful information.
If anyone needs information from my perspective, related to the knowledge I gained through my experiences in having a long distance marriage, and going through this visa process, I will be happy to help. Send email to my Visa Journey Member Account, and I will help if I can. Include your email and phone number.... phone number because I am limited on time and cannot always find the time to email.
Thanks again to Ed, Lisa, John, Sonia, my wife, and Visa Journey.
