I have a question for anyone who has gone through the Lima, Perú consulate for their visa:

I know that there is a list of vaccinations that are required, but some of these vaccinations (they have told my fiancé) he cannot get now because he is an adult and they can only be given as a child.

He is taking care of his vaccinations now - so that we don't have to go crazy running around before the interview. He is going to el Instituto Nacional del Salud, and I believe their doctors are competent and I've read up on the internet about this, and it seems that they're right.

My question is: what do we do if he never had these vaccines as a child, and he cannot get them now!?

*I'm confused!*

We went thru the lima embassy, my wife had no record of her childhood vacs and it was no problem..My suggestion is you wait for the medical exam, and let the doctor deal with the issue, they have seen all the problems related to the issue, and will administer the correct vacs..I would not go to the instituto, as the doctors, like to administer them...the price is the same, we paid 110 soles for 3 vacs, then you will need the boosters, in the US before AOS..Good luck my friend...Daniel and Meche..

According to the procedure, you have to take your vaccination sheet, IF YOU HAVE IT, to the medical exam. All those vaccines that appear on the package ARE NOT MANDATORY... so dont get crazy and dont go anywhere to get the vaccines, i think somewhere says dont go a take vaccines prior the medical interview also.....

i have no vaccination chart, i am 30 and i know i had in the last years 3 of the hepatitis B vaccines.

During the medical the dotor will determine witch vaccines you need and you will take there inmediatly(you need to pay aditional money for that so take more). i think they base the vaccines on the age, there was people complaining about some human papiloma vaccine that is expensive but is only required up to 25 or 26 i think. i did not have to take it.

what i do recomend is asking the doctor which vaccines you need to take. i did this and between other desease he mentioned chicken pox and i told him i already had chicken pox when was little so he removed it. at the end i only had some triple and cuadruple vaccine.. exactly what they were.. no idea.

OK.... thank you for the help!

He just got some vaccines that are necessary for traveling. I guess that's good enough. He said he needs these anyway.

I'll save the rest for the doctor required for the interview,

Thanks again!

Absolutely wait for the medical exam. When he gets his packet 3, it's discussed in there, if I remember correctly, that he should get them done there (at the exam).

We wanted to get ours done somewhere else too (to save money), and we didn't due to the directions.

Good luck!

Susita,

My husband went to Dr. Nora Lari and he got Diphteria and Tetanus vaccines + he got some MMS(have no clue what is it) vaccine from before, so he present that paper to the Dr. and he paid only $95 + 110 soles, so I would suggest her, your fiance can call and ask her for more info.

Suzy if you tell me which vaccines you're talking about I'll try to help.
