It's a common requirement: a year or longer. 6 months should be no problem. Are you out of that other country or is it the case where you've been there for 6 months and still living there?
I am Ukrainian but had my interview in US Embassy in Indonesia. They told me the same thing: a year or longer. However, at the time I got a receipt notice for my case from the Embassy it had been 9 months since I arrived in Indonesia. That was under a year, so I thought I didn't need one. By the time I had all my papers ready it had already been 10+ months, + the time between documentation screening and the interview... So I was told I would need police clearance certificate from Indonesia as well cause it was getting close to a year.
All depends on the stage you're at with your documentation and where you are currently
Hope this helps

Hey guys !
I hope u can help me with my question.....
I am gathering the paperwork for my interview in June. I am going to have it in Moscow. My question is about a police clearance certificate. According to the the American embassy in Moscow, i only need it from a foreign country if i lived there for a year.
Now, i have a dual nationality and i lived in the country of my second citizenship (not Russia) for 6 months...i think i dont have to get the police certificate ....or do i ???
thank u very much in advance
