I have a quick question, I'm a GC holder and I'd really like my mom to visit me with a tourist visa this Summer, I know B2 visas are almost impossible to get in Peru even if you have everything they ask so I heard about people contacting Congressmen, how that works? Does anyone know any Congressman that really helped?

Getting a B2 visa is all about the applicant providing sufficient evidence to overcome the presumption of intention to immigrate. A congressperson cannot provide such evidence for you....

congressmen???? i have not ever heard about it. yes getting B1/B2 is almost a luck game, there are many factors that help, I was this monday at the embassy and there was a lady about 55 that was asking for a B1/B2 visa to visit her daugther i think. she says she was asked if she has more children, if she has grandchildren, she said she does have grand children also who was going to pay for the trip, she said her dougther and that was all they gave her the visa.

i am very interested in this topic because i would like my mom and dad to go and visit me, they dont have too much money and never been on the states so if somebody knows about some legal procedure, petition or has more information i would like to have it.

It is not impossible for your Mom to get a tourist visa. She does have to show ties to the country that she will return. Examples are, owning her own house or condo, being married, bank account, does she work, does she have parents that are still alive that she perhaps needs to care for at times.

My wifes mother got a tourist visa last year with no problem. She owns her own condo, has money in the bank, has 2 elderly parents. She is not married and does not work. They gave her the visa for 1 year.

Contacting your congressman for a tourist visa isn't going to help any
