My boyfriend received the NOA1 in the mail today. I can't believe how nervous I feel right now! It's so silly, since it's still very early days, but I'm so worried about receiving an RFE. (Especially since Jeff will be over here visiting from end of June to beginning of August..!)
My fears of not filling in the forms correctly and not supplying enough evidence are resurfacing. I can only hope that who ever gets assigned to my case will be satisfied by what I've provided.. *worry worry worry*
Below is a list of what we submitted (total 120+ pages, including forms and photos and birth certificates - both mine and his, just to be safe):
PROOF OF MEETING
PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE
Photos of Jeff and Melanie, taken at the family residence in Roseville, California – 3 photos
Jeff and Melanie, photopgraphed together at the Ascendancy Gaming Lan, San Francisco, CA 15th – 6th December 2007 – 2 scanned photos
Photos taken by Melanie - 8 scanned photos of us in different locations
TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION EVIDENCE
Passport scans (photo page and pages with entry/exit stamps)
Boarding passes (mine only - Jeff didn't keep any)
Booking Confirmations & Itineraries - 7 total (Jeff visiting me x 2, me visiting him, and us flying together in the US and to Amsterdam)
oHotel Confirmations x2
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Credit Card & Bank Statements (mine only)
RECEIPTS, TICKETS & OTHER DOCUMENTATION
Paperwork from Melanie’s doctor’s visit in CA (signed Doctor's certificate)
Receipts and tickets from Disneyland
Receipts from places in US with my name and his name displayed
Movie Tickets x 2
Journal of Vacation – written by Melanie of her time with Jeff, 15th December 2007 – 5th January 2008, with photographs and dates
EVIDENCE OF RELATIONSHIP
FORMAL DOCUMENTATION – THIRD PARTIES & FAMILY RELATIONS
Statutory Declaration – from my mother, confirming that me and Jeff have met several times in the past two years, and her belief that we are in a genuine relationship
Statement from minister of religion who interviewed / counselled me regarding the visa process and marriage (he has known me for about 8 years now)
Statement from family friend and former high school teacher of petitioner – stating that she has met me in person in the company of Jeff, and confirming, in her belief, the relationship between us to be genuine.
Statement from Jeff's sister, verifying the length of the relationship and the level of commitment between me and Jeff, and detailing our visits to each other.
SCANNED DOCUMENTATION
Letters and Cards to Jeff from Melanie, and vice versa (12 in total, from both of us)
EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE
Email correspondence between us (14 in total) – selection of emails written between 18th November 2005 up until present, 14th February 2008

Jeff says that he's sure people who've done the mail order bride thing have supplied less, and that we'll be approved no problem, but from personal experience, do you guys think there will be an RFE imminent?

From what I can see - there is more than enough evidence for you. You have more than we do, and I am not to worried. As far as the nerves - lol - join the club. Its natural - this is a huge step by any measure.
I remember when Teresa and I put our packet together - we both had a checklist, and on web cam we checked each document off as it was placed in the envelope after being held up so we both could confirm it is the right document. Is that anal or what lol
But good luck, stay busy....and think how exciting life is about to get

The early part is the hardest! I was so nervous and stressed for the first two months after filing...but it goes by faster than you think it will and you end up in a routine where you're just waiting. Take it one day at a time. It'll suck, but you'll get through it!

You just got in the car and started driving down the road to Visa land. I wish you good luck and look out for the RFE tumble weeds. With your enormous car because of all the evidence provided I am sure you will not have any issues.

Whew! it's not even been a week since they received our petition, and I've been checking our case status online every day.

Even though I know nothing will happen for 100 days at least! I've got to learn patience.

Tiny update! the petition's been touched! My heart skipped a beat when I saw the date had changed in the "last updated" column on the case status.

Signature updated, but i know it will be a long time before I will be able to put my NOA2 notification date in there.

It makes me feel happy to know that things are happening in the CSC, that it's not the immigration equivalent of a "Dead Letter Office" after all.

I hope it's already an approval
