Hi,
I am a US citizen and am filling out the I-751 form for my husband. When it asks for my information, it requests my family name. Do they want my married name or maiden name. I changed my name over 2 years ago and when we had our Adjustment of Status interview i had my new name. I assume it should be my new name since they obviously have my madien name on file. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Carmelisa

Good question. I assumed it wanted my name as it is today (I changed mine after the AOS stuff was filed though). I was debating putting my former name in parens. For example: Johnson (Smith)

I think "family name" means the same thing as "last name". When I filled it out, I put my married name which is my current last name.

Did everything work out for you in placing your married name as the family name on the 1-751?
At AOS I hadn't changed to my married name yet. Would that make a difference?
