Glyn and Kathy
I have looked on here for information but I can't seem to find it. Glyn's children are not coming with us to the US. They are staying here with their Mom. It says that we need to bring birth certificates or baptismal certificates for the boys to the interview at the Embassy. We have the originals, but one of them is the short form. Do we need the long form for them too? I am thinking if it says either baptismal records or birth certificates, that it doesn't matter which certificate it is. If no one here knows, I will call on Tuesday...but I thought I would try to avoid calling them again with the price of the call.
Thanks in advance guys.

If they're not coming with you (and you are not obtaining a visa for them) I don't see why you need their BCs. Am I missing something here?

Is DCF different in this regard? Am I having a senior moment? laughing.gif

I was a little confused myself...you only need documentation for Glyn surely?

No, on the applicants statement, it says "Every applicant for an immigrant visa who has a child or children, is by regulation required to submit to the interviewing consular officer, the birth and/or baptismal certificate for each child. If your wife or husband has a child or children by a previous marriage who had not attained the age of eighteen years by the time of your marriage, or a child born out of wedlock, the birth and or baptismal certificate must also be obtained for the examination by the consular officer. This requirement applies even though one or more of the children of either spouse has no current intention to apply for in immigrant visa to the united states."

I assume it is just to identify possible future applicants for a visa? Or maybe it has something to do with making sure we don't take off with his boys??
Muuuuah
It is my understanding that you only need the birth certificates of the people that are listed on the application. If the children are not on the application then you will not need them, or so i thought. Must be different for DCF.

Well, you will need full BC then. The Embassy does not accept the short form as it doesn't list the parents' names.
