Hello,

My employment-based Green Card application was approved at the US Consulate, Chennai, and I (along with my family) have to move to the US within 6 months. However, since we have a young baby, I am planning to send my family back immediately after entering, and they would join me later after I get 'settled'.

My question is: can they return home immediately, or they have to wait for the 'Green Card' to come by mail?

Regards,
Sharath

Since you already have a job - what's there to settle? (Unless you have never been to or never lived in USA.) That aside - every visa has a validity - some have 6 months - so if you travel right away the rest of the family still has a few more months (5 more months) to wait it out in India. Which city/state are you going to - do you have any contacts? They can help you - there is a very large Indian community in USA. Good Luck
