Hi All, Just wondering if anyone else is here in Brisbane going through the same process to move to California or USA in general?

I'm in the process of gathering my forms, information, certificates etc (done the medical) to send to Sydney.

Haven't sent it off yet as still waiting for a few things...

Does anyone else feel it's the most stressful thing they've ever done (due to no timelines?)! smile.gif Hope to hear from a fellow Brissy person soon smile.gif

Hi, I am in the same boat as you, Im from the Gold Coast and am moving to Salt Lake City....we are currently waiting for our NOA 2 which is ridiculously frustrating to say the least... filling out the forms is the easy part... the waiting is killer... be prepared to feel like nothing is happening for a long time ( cos it is) just a question...are you applying for a K1 or K3 visa?

Hi, We have applied for the K1. I've done everything I need to do, I'm just waiting for my fiance to send me his affidavit of Support, then I'll express post all the forms, photos etc to Sydney and wait for them to contact me I guess. I just can't wait for it to be over. This all started back in October and it got approved in USA a while ago and sent to Sydney in March. It's amazing how much the people wanting to do this all the legal way get punished (I.e.. US!) when there are so many illegal immigrants living in USA. At least we're doing this the correct way.

I have no idea with all the codes etc.. what's NOA2 ? I just go by silly form names. It's way too confusing. I can't believe how confusing the website is.

Hope all is going well,
Jill

NOA-1 and NOA-2 are two terms US Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) use. "NOA" stands for "Notice of Action". USCIS sends a NOA-1 when they receive your visa application and NOA-2 when they approve your visa application.

To the OP: Welcome to California! (California resident here.) Hope you enjoy it here!

Ohhhh Ok, well I'm passed all that! smile.gif I'm seriously going to crack it if I have to wait like a month between sending the packet 3 back and getting an interview.... I've had enough! smile.gif

Hi Kaffy, was just wondering if i can ask about how you got your police check from japan. My fiance and i also met working in japan, but instead of getting married there we are going the fiance visa route, so i need a police check to send to the consulate in syd after we get our petition approval, im not sure how long it will take to get the check from japan, so i would like to start now. If you wouldnt mind sharing your knowledge on this subject, I would be most grateful...

Thanks, Stevie

Hi Stevie, you can apply for the Japanese Police Certificate through the Consulate here. It's free of charge but takes about 2 months for them to process it so it's probably a good idea if you apply for yours soon. The consulate is open Monday-Friday between 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-15:30. You should bring your valid passport and a registered post envelope (domestic, small sized one).

hope this helps!

ps- where abouts in Japan were you? we were in Sapporo

Hi Guys, I hope you can find the "Aussie" thread, it's pinned at the top of the "asia" page. <http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27>. I hope that works!!

I am in Florida from Brissie too, so can feel for you. There are some aussies who have made the application after me, (they keep changing the immigration rules) and they will probably chime in too...

Welcome to VJ and best wishes for your journey
