Hiya all

I read somewhere one time that the DCF in Uk come to a grind during the summer and wanted to know if anyone has actual information on this?

My process date is March 27th 2008 and I am "guessing" that I would get something back from them end of this month or beginning of June or end... dunno..

anyone got some insight for me? Fed up with UK and thinking of cancelling the process and moving back to Holland.

I'm not sure about that but I hope not. I do know that with all the bank holidays coming up and the American holidays as well there will be more days off. I had also heard on an embassy web chat that whenever there are school holidays in the UK, the embassy gets busy as its the only time for American parents to take their children in for passports?? It seemed to be true because whenever the kids were out, it seemed like it took them forever to process anything.

Do you mean you're thinking of giving up the idea of moving to the US and just relocating indefinitely to Holland? Or thinking of stopping the process here and then restarting it in Holland? If the main concern is getting to the US as fast as possible, you are best staying in the UK and finishing up DCF there. If you're sick of living in the UK and your main concern is improving your current living situation even if means add some time to the process of moving to the US, then why not take the step to move back to Holland (assuming your spouse goes with you)!

Yeah moving and giving up indefinitely...

My husband and daughter are Dutch so yea, they would be going.

I know it probably sounds crazy to cancell the process after them chargeing the credit card and all but who can control all of life's events and stuff!

I dont think i will hear from them till end June and i guess looking at august/september when we have the visa.

Dunno... still deciding!

Hi there, I noticed you mentioned taking it slow. I have an an approved visa application dated 19th Feb sitting in front of me.(petition filed Sept 17th 2007) I am Dcf Filing in London. The reason I have not sent the next part back is twofold. Firstly we are trying to buy some time as my wife cannot move back at the moment due to health issues she is recieving treatment for. Also we have not yet secured a jont sponsor.

How long will my case remain active for? I heard a year but I,m not sure. I'm wondering wether its worth writing to the embassy with my situation and requesting an extension.

Any help on this would be appreciated

You have until February 19th 2009 to finish the process. It would be good sometime in the next month or so to send a letter of explanation to the embassy (same address where you would be sending the DS-230 Part 1 and the checklist). If you may need even longer than February of next year, I would mention that as well.
