I am anticipating for my EAD to arrive sooner, however I just want to make sure if I can LEGALLY be able to accept a job without the card yet ? I would like to know if there are people here who have experienced accepting a job while anticipating for the actual work card. I know nothing as to the technicality of the EAD process though I've read the existing rules but it's not stated if the effectivity of such document starts upon receiving the approval notice or upon receipt of the actual card? Any information will greatly be appreciated! Thank you!

You can accept a job offer, but the employer cannot legally employ you until they can satisfy the requirements of form I-9, that is confirm that you are a US Citizen, have EAD, or Green-Card.

Thank you so much YuAndDan! I do appreciate your very quick reply on my query. With that being said, I feel a lot confident that I am doing just the right thing.
