Hello Everyone:

I just want to share with you guys that we already have a case number assigned. My husband called NVC - April 29 (US time) and was informed about this wonderful development about our case. We've been waiting for more than a month now and it feels really good to finally have a case number kicking.gif

However there are some gray areas that caught our attention because the NVC personnel actually told my husband that -

(1) In 4 to 6 weeks we will be receiving and NVC letter through courier informing us if there are any more documents required from us
- weird... because we thought that all the reviews are being done by USCIS and once the case number has been assigned, documents are immediately mailed to the specific embassy who will do the rest of the visa processing.

(2) NVC will be the one who schedule the interview
- again this is so odd headbonk.gif as it has been clearly indicated in the revised K3 packet, as well as the USEM website that the petitioner/applicant is now the person in charge with regards to scheduling their own interviews

Can somebody please shed some light on this confusion? It seems to us that the guy who got my husband's call is so uninformed about the recent updates in the process and was adamantly explaining things to him based on what he previously know or does not know about.

Also, can somebody in here please tell me -

(i) How soon can we expect to get the letter from NVC? normal timeframe? after 1-2 weeks of getting the case number?
(ii) Does everyone get an actual letter from NVC through courier?
(iii) How soon can we call USEM to check if they've already received our documents?

Your thoughts on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance biggrin.gif

The points you raised is odd. unsure.gif

If i'm not mistaken, the NVC will set the interview schedule for immigrant visa applicants e.g. CR1 or IR1. You are a K3 applicant which fall under non-immigrant so you are supposed to set your own interview appointment by calling the call center... Did your husband specify that you are a K3 applicant? maybe theperson who answered him was not really looking or reading your file and was just firing answers based on what he/she was hearing from your hubby. OR... they have changed the policy again and it is back to waiting for NVC to set interview appointment sched for everybody again. wacko.gif

as for the letter from NVC, i could only speak based on our own experience... NVC received our file March 21, Ricky recieved the letter from NVC March 24 and when we called NVC two days after we were told that our file was forwarded to USEM already on March 24... our file was recieved at USEM (via DHL tracking) on March 28.. so it only took 1 week from the time NVC received our file from VSC to arrive at USEM.

March 28 was Friday so we called the following Tuesday, April 1 and successfully set an interview sched. You can already set call and set an appointment 2 or 3 days after USEM receives your file.

Good luck and may you have the interview sched soon.

we got case no#. april 22nd for both petition and then got the NVC hard copy mail april 26th for the I-129 F dated April 24th stating they just recently received the approved I-129F petitioned filed, its also said in the letter that it will be forwarded within a week to the visa - issuing post overseas.
that the spouse will soon receice a packet.
but we called them last monday and then the case was not there yet, they said to call again next may 9th. but im still gonna try tommorow.

goodluck to u

Yep, I think you got it right. Interview schedules for CR1 applicants are being handled by NVC while interviews for all K type visas are to be scheduled by the petitioner/applicant through USEM call center. My husband explicitly told the guy from NVC that we're doing the K3 and of course he also mentioned our approved I-129 USCIS reference number which is why we find it really peculiar that he told my husband to wait for the letter after 4-6 weeks, submit any documents if needed (think he's referring to an RFE) and that they are the ones managing the interview scheduling. What he mentioned is so obsolete dead.gif

Anyhow, for the letter, our guess is that we'll be receiving the actual letter from NVC sometime next week, if not week after that... hopefully. I'll also try the online check appointment inquiry tool next week to check if USEM already have our records and of course, try tracking our docs using the DHL tracking tips and tricks here.

Oh and I talked to Robbie of Delbros just a couple of minutes ago and he confirmed that they've already informed USEM this morning, May 2 that we've already paid our docs verification fee last Wednesday, April 30. I didn't have a hard time contacting him which is cool good.gif

Thanks Gay for your inputs. I'll update you as soon as we get our interview schedule. I need to be included on the list of May interviewees... yes.gif
