Quick question. On the paperwork that my fiancee recieved from the Embassy, it states that she must bring the original I-134 Affidavit of Support with her to the interview. According to our lawyer, the Embassy already has the original I-134 Affivdavit of Support becasue it was sent in with all the other paperwork. Anyone have an experience with this? I am assuming that I should trust my lawyer but I just want to make sure there will not be any snags at the interview.

The paperwork also states that all Civil Documents must be originals. What exactly are the Civil Doucments? I am assuming it means her birth certificate, police clearances, passport, etc. But I want to make sure.

You're correct. Since the I-134 did not have to be sent to the USCIS with the I-129F, it is possible that the embassy will not end up getting it with your case. Your fiancée needs to go to the interview with a notarized I-134 and financial supporting documents. Your lawyer should know better and learn to follow directions.

The list of civil documents is inside what most people call Packet 3. These documents are the ones you mentioned, police certificate, birth certificate, divorce decree or death certificate of previous spouse if needed, migratory movement certificate, etc.

I don't know which lawyer you used, but, the one I used mailed me all of my original documents back including the I-134 Affidavit of Support along with all original approved NOA's and the actual approved petition. I have to mail them to my fiance in Cape Town. I hope this doesn't hold things up for you. You should try to contact the consulate to see if they have it. Good luck!!!!!

I contacted the embassy and they do have the original I-134, so they said she does not need to bring it. I am still going to send her an new updated and notarized I-134 due to the fact that I am now employed and, when I filled out the original I-134, I was unemployed. Better safe then sorry!!
