Hi,

This might be posted in the wrong place, its late and Im panicing!

My husband and I moved about six months ago, and I swear, I remember sitting at the computer changing our new address online. I have a very firm memory of doing this.

However I checked into the USCIS website to look at something else, and they still have my old address. I realize that for some reason my address change never went though, and now I am terrified there are going to be problems.

I have changed it now, but am I going to get in trouble because of this? Also, all the evidence I have saved from the last 6 months for proof of our joint address will it be useless?

Its says I can be deported for not changing my address within 10 days (I really think I did, I dont know what happened) would they really do this?

Im going to call my lawyer monday morning, but any advice would be great.

Thanks so much.

Sorry - I should add, we moved after I had received my 2 year conditional greencard. I have nothing currently pending with them. Thanks!

Don't panic. Everything should be fine. As long as there is nothing you are worrying about coming in the mail that you might have missed there should be no problems. USCIS has a very long history of losing, disregarding, not processing address changes. If I were you, I would call the 800 number and confirm the address change--just because the website has already lost it once--and get a name of the person you spoke to to confirm the change. or Was there a confirmation page for you to print that you changed the address?
