My mom's friend, she and the beneficiary have a son that lives with the mom right now. Beneficiary currently lives in Vietnam, and he got his interview last week; the US consulate asked for DNA tests from him and his son. How they should go about get their DNA tested? since the son currently live here, does he have to fly back to VN to do DNA tests? thanks

DNA tests are becoming easier to do. What is needed is the DNA material from the person who is getting the test. That can be a cotton swab of the mouth to get saliva. There are even kits you can get where you collect the material then send it to the lab.

However the beneficiary should contact the Consulate to ask how they want the test done, ie what labs/tests in the US can be used that they will accept? The Consulate will probably want the son to go to a lab so the lab can verify his identity.
