I definitely wouldn't stay around.

I stayed.

And at times it is/was very painful. But to have a friend you have to BE a friend. I treasure my friendship with many VJ'ers.

As my fiancée's interview draws closer and closer, I'm already posting far less. I know I would not stay if we were to separate. I'm here because this is a VJ and I have a common thread with others. If that thread were lost, there would be no point in remaining.

After a breakup, the Effects forum is a great place for information on the legalities. It's there if you ever need it.

Of course, neither of us believes in divorce, so it's a rather moot concept anyway.

I probably wouldn't stay but, then again, I haven't been in that situation so I cannot say I would definitively leave. I don't even know if I would stay if my spouse and I DON'T separate. I think it would depend upon whether the friends I have made on here remain or not. If they were gone I would think that I would not be interested in being here at all.

I've made a lot of friends I would hate to lose. But, I KNOW I would never do the LD thing again, so I'd have no use for the information anymore.

After thinking about this a few days, I can safely say, not only would I not do this LD again, I don't think I could do it over again period. When I consider all the time, money, and emotions that go into finding someone you truly want to be with... If Alla & I were ever to break up, really doubt it, but I'll ponder... By the time I finally got over her... Well, I truly think I'd just stay single and count all the years I had someone special in my life.

That pretty much sums it up for me too.

I'd probably pop in very occasionally, if at all. I've had some laughs on VJ and have enjoyed myself, but if Platy and I were to split up I'd be able to file VJ into that box that needs to be moved on from.

If it happened I'd just disappear. No goodbyes, no "I'm leaving" thread, no drama or attention would be needed for me - nothing. The people I'd want to stay in touch with would have my email address (or be on my Facebook friends list) and *poof* I'd be gone.

However, as Platy has mentioned, this is a moot point (or should that be "mute"? bwahahaha) as neither of us has any intention of divorcing or giving up on the other. Ever.

I enjoy coming on here and seeing what's up, but I think I wouldn't stay on very long. I'd make sure I'd be able to get in touch with a couple of people away from VJ, and then probably slink off in the sunset. Not sure if I'd be missed regardless!

to answer my own question.... my answer is just like above!

VJ would be hard to quit cold turkey. I'd probably still want to check it out an a regular basis and see what is happening.

I'd still want to help out others whenever I can.

With all the change going on in my life, hanging out on VJ sometimes is the only thing that hasn't changed...heh,. and that's comforting at times.

I left for a long time and didn't miss it, but now we're going through removing conditions I'm back for that, and will stay for naturalization if we get there. It's getting harder to keep him here in the US - he wants us to move back to Morocco now that I'm graduating. He has no idea how hard finding a professional job can be, especially overseas.

I'm the one who wants US to move to Morocco but my husband is the one who says we'll never find jobs! lol

When that Romanian Jerk-face and I broke up and eventually divorced, I still hung out here mostly in Off Topic. People who were filing for Romanian spouses would still look me up and ask me advice and I would help them*. There were times when I was so ashamed of what happened that I would be sure to sign out before I lurked on the site

So that's me saying yes, I would and have stayed after a break up.


*If you look at my time line, it has all the old info about Jerk-face's Romanian visa journey. If I reset it now and wait to fill it in when Jonny and I do DCF in 3 years, I'm afraid I will get constantly harassed by n00bs telling me to update my time line
