Hello everyone.
I am a Filipina and my husband is an american. We got married in the Philippines early this year. We moved here in Bangkok to work and luckily both of us are working right now. We are planning to stay here longer, maybe a year or two or even more.
My concern is, can I apply for a US tourist visa so I can go with my husband to visit his family in the US around October? We didn't plan yet on applying for the I-130 form since we didn't plan on moving to the US and stay there and work. We love our life here in bangkok together and the good paying job we got that's why we want to stay here longer.
I haven't met any of his family members and that's why he wants me to come with him and visit them. Do you think the US consul will give me this visa? What should we do about this?
Thank you very much for the wise advise you guys can give

YES you can.. I did apply for a VISIT VISA before my husband filed K3 VISA.. The US Embassy in Kuwait issued me a 10 years visit visa which in the later got cancelled because we were informed we can process k3 visa here in the Middle East without going back to the Philippines, so we filed a K3 and got approved. Since we are overseas all the time, I personally wish that I just did VISIT VISA at first since our marriage is just only a year.. BEcause once they issued a greencard to you, you are obligated to come back once a year in the US.. Second, if your marriage is just is not more 2 years, they will just give you conditional greencard which you will have to file and spend another money again to Lift up the condition...
My advice to a newly couple living overseas., just apply for a visit visa.. if you are sure to yourself that you are not coming back yet to the US.. This way, this will save you guys money and time..
Apply for a k3 visa, before you go back to the US at least by the time you are already married for at least 3 years and they will issue a 10 yrs validity of greencard..
Been living in the MIDDLE EAST for 5 years, has conditional residence.. it is really expensive for us because we are 3 that needs to fly out every year.. my family dont let me travel alone.
