The Wizard
I went for my interview recently and i was reject under section 221(g), which is because i didnt present documents that i should have. The document in question was the Police certificate, since i had applied and recieved my Police certificate they changed the system, so i was told that i needed to get the new certificate. I was then told that i would need to send this with my passport to the Embassy and they would process my visa. My question to anyone who could help is once i send these documents off and the blue form, how long will it be before i recieve my visa or another rejection, depending on how they review the application. Please help someone the stress is becoming unbearable.

I'm sorry to hear about the K1 refusal but consider yourself lucky that it wasn't a refusal on any other grounds! I only just read in another forum I think (consulate & embassy discussion) forum that you must apply for the new certificate and a speedy service which I think is priority service costing £70.00 will be with you in two days. Check it out. Why would you think you will get rejected again? I think you'll be absolutely fine. I'm not sure when you'll get your visa after this... maybe someone else can comment on that.. but I imagine it won't take too long! The best of luck good.gif

We will be having our interview soon. Therefore, I've read a lot of posts similar to this.

People who have described a scenario like yours have overcome quickly and gotten pink.

Good luck & best wishes. good.gif

Hi, I'm new to these boards but I can only relay what's going on with my case.

I'm Canadian and had my interview on Feb 28, 2008. I got the blue form too as they wanted an updated police check. I sent them the paperwork but it took them more than a YEAR to schedule my interview (don't ask me why, after reading how fast everyone is getting everything on these boards it's really making me frustrated). Anywho, by the time I got my interview my certificate was over a year old so I had to redo it. They also wanted another medical. I couriered those to the consulate and they received it as of April 1, 2008. No word since. My case just says Application Pending. My hubby, who's an American, and I have been married 5 1/2 yrs, have two kids together (4 and 3), he's a former marine from the gulf war...and for some reason it's taken us years and years to get the interview and now I'm in AP land. I was born and raised in Canada and have no issues relating to anything (never been refused entry to the US, I don't have a criminal record, my parents were originally from Estonia and that's not on the restrictive country list, but have been in Canada since they were kids). I'm just a stay-at-home mom. I guess us stay-at-home mom's are a danger to the US these days eh? lol

Sorry but I have to laugh or I'd cry. I call everyday to the State Dept. to see if there is any news and all they say is application is pending due to the documents that I was to send in. Then they ask if I've sent them....grrrrrr. Yes, 3 1/2 weeks ago! We are trying to get me and my son who's 11 (we have custody papers allowing us to move him to the US) from a previous marriage to move to the US where my hubby is now working and living. I just spoke with an immigration attorney yesterday and he told me to have my hubby contact his US Senator. Looks like we will have to go that route if we are ever to get things moving. It's been years and years sad.gif

From what I've read from others though, you should be fine. But whoever has been on my case needs a fire under them as they've fallen asleep.

Very sorry to hear it from both of you. I hope you both get your visa's granted quickly now. Best of luck.

I'm sure you will be alright as soon as you send in your passport/new police cert, so keep positive, I used to email the embassy for any queries I had (at pkt 4 stage), and they always reply with an automated email first, then you get a real person response..........Try that to help keep things moving along, but sounds like you will get your visa in passport pretty soon!

Hi,

I think as long you submitted to them what they asked to you which is the new police certificate along with your passport, then you are good, only need just to wait and your visa will soon be delivered to you. Good luck.
