My Dad is adament that it's more of a greeny colour... I am adament that it's not. Discuss!

(Sorry if this doesn't work... It's my first attempt at a poll!)

Sometimes it looks a little green to me. But, for the most part, I say BLUE and that's how I voted.

It is definitely blue and I am NEVER wrong! Just ask my husband.

It actually varies depending on the exact makeup of the stone. Some are more green, others are more blue.

I'd say it's like a greenish blue, or maybe a bluish green.

I have heard the colour called a shade of blue but never as a shade of green. I would say it has to be closer to blue, as it is the nearest primary colour.

However it said that the colour Turquoise is always has combined greenish or blueish tone. This is the very isue being raised whether Turquoise is really more or green or blue shade. Is this why it defined as in-between colour for its greenish quality yet blue trait. As on the colour spetrum scale the blue and green are right next to eachother whereby the Turquoise is located. Maybe the answer lies in the meaning and feeling behind the colour blue and green. Blue with its 'tranquil and peaceful' apeal while green with it similarily 'calming' effect. Now dont these words seem to sound very much the same and mean the same thing including having the same feeling and tone to them.

anyone who spends time trying to figure out what color something is needs more yard work. or a nearby lake to go fishing in.

Can be either but generally the stone is more green but the color people mean when they talk about "a turquoise shirt" or whatever is more blue. Here's a photo showing both:

my birthstone is turquoise and the promise ring that my fiance gave me has a blue stone on it.so i voted for blue ,although i had some doubts before that its color is green
