We are in Gravesend now. When I arrived in November, Tom was living in a two room flat in Brixton. When the visa was denied we knew we could not stay in Brixton.. its much too expensive. Because Tom has friends in Gravesend we decided to look at houses to rent in Gravesend. We found one and moved in at the beginning of April. Unfortunately I have to go back to the states on Wednesday May 10th or it would be interesting to meet. I have ridden a few times now on that train from London Bridge to Gillingham (but we get off in Gravesend of course) . I would have loved to travel a little further east before going back but there just has not been time with trying to set up the house so it will be ready for my return... assuming the Uk wil let me back in. Now I have to get a fiance visa and I am terrified.
The timing of my return is horrible... Tom broke his toe last Sunday. He had already scheduled days off so we could do some things before my return... see a little more of Kent than just Gravesend... but he can't walk. He works at a hospital near London Bridge and we was riding his motorscooter home that day... he was only two traffic lights from home when someone ran a red light and he had to brake so hard the scooter fell on him. No one can figure out why he doesnt have a mark on him except this badly broken big toe... but we know we were lucky. It could have been so much worse. Happened at the intersection of Thames Way and Vale Road or possibly Dover... he is not sure looking at the map and won't be back at that intersection for a few weeks. The doctor signed him off for three more weeks from work... so he will be here all alone unable to walk much and I have to leave him. This is breaking my heart. I want to see Kent in the summer but I fear it will take me many months to get things squared away in Michigan.
Of course what we really wanted was for him to live in the States. This has been a long and cruel process.

I have worked in Maidstone, Belvedere and Folkestone and currently live and work in Gravesend(lived there my whole life). I am currently in the U.S. visiting one last time before the Visa is issued. I am going to be working as much as possible before i get my Visa and any free time will be spent talkign to my wife in the US so a drink with a fellow visa waiter is sadly not too workable right now. Good luck though.

It is a small world and it is funny to think some of us are only a train ride away. I have probably neglected my friends as it is though. ha.
