Permanent residents get unemployment benefits (my friend had). But rules are not federal, state-by-state. In some states you have to be employed for 1 year, in other less. But if she would get fired (instead of layed off), she would not get any.
PS: why she would not ask boss about new strategy to improve sales? That is what boss is for-develop solutions to stagnant sales. You wife as a dilligent sales person without supervisor responsibilities must follow the strategy. Boss is not a slave supervisor. Boss should be more experiencable, should have skills to lead salesforce and develop sales strategy. To give 90 day program without any help-sounds like your wife was just marked for layoff/firing-in-disquise and with no hope for unemployment. Wonder if there are some savings for company if they fire instead of layoff?

Hi guys, and thanks, I did mean Unemployment Insurance....

... I blame it on a rough day.
Thank you for your replies, and I will check more into it now that I know her being an immigrant doesn't effect anything.
Thanks again.
IF anyone is interested, I found this web page:
(Look for the part that says "Can Non US citizens get unemployment insurance?")
