I'm not sure "okay" is the word I would or would not use.

I think it could be very hurtful to one partner if the other partner feels the need to look at porn alone.

If you use porn as a "tool" in your sex life, I think that's between a man and a woman to decide.

Questions like this make me wonder if people ascribe way too much significance to the act of watching porn.

My friends SO is big into porn, so much so he can't get it up without porn. To me, that's a problem.

Overall, in small doses, porn doesn't bother me, but soem people become obsessed with it and it begins to distort reality.

You hit the nail on the head there. I have no problem with my SO watching porn alone, it doesn't mean he loves me any less. However, if it got to a point where it was necessary, or he became obsessed with it then my view would change.

My girl wouldn't be cool with me doing it alone but I don't think I would care that much if she did. If she started calling out someone's name in the act, that would be a problem.

He does watch porn a lot, I do watch porn too (and we don't do it only when we are apart) and we watch it together sometimes when we're together. There's nothing wrong with porn unless, as juzabelle said, the person can't do it without it anymore. For us, porn and sex are two different things.
But I understand that some people don't think the same. For us, he brought that subject at the beginning of the relationship to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. And it's definitely not.

We have talked about it, hubby is not really into it as in getting online or running out to get it at a store (but had a few mags still arrived after his son left and we both read them, didn't look at the pics ha ha ha).

And I agree would rather him look at porn that be constantly running to a strip club.

My wife doesn't care if I look at porn every so often, just as long as the porn in question isn't "sick and perverted." By that she means involving unusual sex acts, such torture, blood, and especially animals or children. Fortunately, my tastes in porn are decidedly run-of-the-mill, so we don't have any problems.

I believe my wife would have an issue if I began choosing porn over her and I wouldn't blame her for getting angry in that instance. Porn is, at best, a make believe fantasy world of sex. Most things that occur in porn regularly would be considered rare in the real world. Besides, I would think someone would need to be a complete fool to pick watching sex over partaking in it if you have a willing and able partner.

I should add that she doesn't look at porn at all. She doesn't think it's disgusting per se, but she doesn't think it's "her thing" either.

I guess this is most where I fall and maybe you are right Trollie, maybe it's just innocent fun that some people, including myself give too much significance to. But, if someone is sitting watching porn instead of interracting with their spouse, something might be not quite right. We don't have any porn in the house, I have no desire to watch it and hubster's never expressed the desire to watch it together, so I guess it's just a non-issue for us and I'm glad of that.

That said, I did answer the poll yes, girl, yes because it hasn't come up between us, but if it did and things weren't right between us in that department, I'd have to change my answer.

Don't get me wrong...porn has it's place...as do Vegas Casinos and chocolate eclairs.

I'd rather have a chocolate eclair than either watch porn or go to a casino.. LOL
