Does anyone have a favorite Kach San they liked to stay at in Saigon? I searched the forum and found some places people stayed at in the past and I also found this link:

We stayed at Tien Hoa next to the New World last time I was there. I guess I am looking for inexpensive, clean, good service and closer to the consulate.
I will be in Vietnam for 4 weeks and if everything goes well at the interview, I would like to take Thao to Phu Quoc for a few days.

A couple years ago I stayed at the Ngoc Ha near Ben Thanh Market. It's walking distance from the Consulate. It was clean and reasonable. We checked out the rooms at different hotels before we decided on where to stay.

We have had good luck in our visits to Indochine Hotel on Hai Ba Trung in Q.1.

If you're going to stay only a few nights, check out First Hotel (Khach San De Nhat) in Tan Binh District. It's a really nice 4-star hotel in Saigon. I only stayed there for one night though (cost me $69). They claim to be Vietnam's top ten hotels since 1999.

Try the Spring Hotel, I have never stayed their but my fiance and her friends have stayed their, it is very close to the center of HCM and close to the Embassy.

Hi, I am a personal fan of the Thien Xuan in District 1, also by Ben Thanh market. Its about $40 a night, but clean, cool, friendly, quiet, has bathtub - I have stayed there twice. Also, free breakfast and internet. Its on Le Thanh Ton street..... Also good is the Liberty 4 on Pham ngu lao. Around $50+ for a nice suite like room with couch and bathtub. (I like bathtubs .... I can't tell you how much fun we had in our bathtub the night we got back to the hotel after being drunk all night..but anywho, story for another time! whistling.gif) Has in house massage and disco dancing - get a foot massage with Thuy' if you get the chance - WOW, worth the $7! :-) if you tell me your price range, I can give you more help - I have been to Saigon 5 times now. p.s. It's Khach' San. :-)~~~ enjoy Saigon ... I am SUPER JEALOUS! ARRGGHHHH I miss TAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not the greatest hotel I am sure but the KIM LINH hotel in dist. 1 was good for me. I think it cost about $15 a night. I gave Xuan only a few requirements for my first trip and this hotel hit them all. I aksed for air conditioning, a fridge, a bathroom, and a bed. The service is ok. The phone number is 011849255300 if you are calling from the states.
