I have seen this in several embassy websites now...its says

""At the time of the interview, each immigrant visa applicant must pay a $400 visa processing fee, effective January 1, 2008 ."""

and of course El Salvador US embassy is one of them...so does this mean there is a 400$ fee...or will i just have to pay $20.. since i already paid $380 to the NVC?

anyone have a clue...or have even heared anything about this process?

i just thinks its alot of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i am suffering with all the money this process requires...

***my hubby had his medical yerturday and it was $300!!!!

If you paid NVC already then just the difference

Not sure about this accross the board. But in my situation, while at the NVC my packet seemed to "skip" steps. Now instead of me paying the 400$ fee with the NVC my husbands is requested to pay it at his interview. I did not see any bulletin telling about this "change" if it is indeed a change. I wondered why ours was so diffrent so far....... not sure who else is doing it this way.

Merk your embassy is not an appoitment post by the NVC right? maybe this is why your process is different.

I am not sure. I called the NVC about the interview and they wouldn't give a direct answer- just gave me the consulate number in Turkey. So I am guessing that Turkey made the interview date.

Yes...I just checked and Turkey does not have the NVC as an appoitment post...Turkey does the appoitment scheduling, collect fees, and other needed forms...
